    Wrigley Field Bleachers Help

I'm heading to Thursday's Cubs-Reds game at Wrigley. This will be my 11th trip to Wrigley, but first time sitting in the Bleachers.

I'm thinking it would be cool to sit in Right Field, with Fukudome and Griffey playing out there.

    With a 1:20 p.m. First pitch, gates will open at 11:20 a.m.

My question for anyone that has been there before, is it alright to get there at 9:45-10 a.m. and get a seat in the first couple rows of the bleachers?

I don't know about the first couple of rows, but that might be early enough. You certainly will be able to sit in right if you get there that early though.

The one time I sat in the bleachers we didn't get there until about 30 minutes before game time and had to sit pretty high up in center.

    Re: Wrigley Field Bleachers Help

I was there earlier this year. The game started at 1:20 and I think we got in line at around 10:30am. We ended up like 7 rows back in the right-center bleachers. I was happy with my spot and had several bp balls come my way (even caught one).

I think if you got there at 9:45 or 10, you'd end up with a good spot I would think

I once got in line not but 10 minutes before the gates opened and there were seats open pretty close to the front. That was for a weekend game as well. It really depends. If you get there as early as you're claiming I think you'll be fine.

Just got back to my buddies place from the game. We got in line at 9:45 a.m. and we got front row seats in the right-center bleachers.

Great game if your not a Cubs fan and you like seeing home runs...

Speaking of that. I'm so upset. Apparently they don't sell Old Style in the Bleachers anymore. It appeared to be all Bud products. Must be because of the name "Bud Light Bleachers"

They sell Old Style everywhere else.

IMO the bleachers are a terrible place to watch the game. Too many people are out there that are either a. not cubs fans or b. don't give a crap about baseball and just want to drink.

I actually had one of the best times I've ever had at Wrigley today, other than the Cubs losing. Beer was $6, which isn't that bad. Most everyone around us knew quite a bit about the Cubs, which made it even more fun.

That's good. It definitely makes it more enjoyable. I just hate sitting out there and listening to people talk on their cell phones are get totally obliterated that you have to deal with a stupid drunk all game.

$6 beer is good deal. Do they still only allow you to buy one beer at a time? That kind of sucked.

I knew it was the "Bud Light Bleachers" but I thought that was just a name. Not being able to drink an Old Style anywhere in Wrigley should be unconstitutional.

    Re: Wrigley Field Bleachers Help

I have now been to 54 games at Wrigley, about 30% of them in the bleachers. I LOVE the bleachers, but I have found I have to be in the mood for it. I have been out there when I was more in the mood to sit back and watch the game and they didn't fit the bill. But, I have been in 3rd baseline seats down low and felt like I wanted to party.

At the end of the day, it is Wrigley field, who cares where you sit.

    Re: Wrigley Field Bleachers Help

    Right field sucks!!!

I think the most accurate statement is that if you want to party, go to the bleachers. You'll still find plenty of knowledgeable fans out there. But, you'll also have a great time. You can buy beers two at a time. Unless you have someone nearby with another ID. Then, you can get 2 beers for every ID/person you have nearby.

And I will agree that it sucks if you sit behind a pole. The bleachers may suck from the extent of seeing game action. But, they are far better than sitting in obstructed seats. Although, at least they have tv's back there so you can actually see what's going on...

ps. I am aching to get back to Wrigley. I haven't been there since opening day this year. I've got some tickets in early August. Who's with me??!!
