sounds to good to be true. At first when I was reading it I thought maybe he did it with a 4 cylinder engine but sounds like it was a 5.0

Wow. You know what sucks though. The government has probably known how to do this for 30 years.

Re: Engineer tweaks Mustang engine to get 110mpg

The real question for me is price. With the right investment I don't have a lot of doubt something like that could be done.

I hope this guy and his car don't mysteriously "disappear."

Re: Engineer tweaks Mustang engine to get 110mpg

Did you guys like this quote...That is something farmers are not going to want to hear.

'He said he could greatly increase even that number if his car used traditional gasoline instead of a mix of gas and 85 percent ethanol."

I am just ticked that it took 40 years to start this process over from the 70's when you had to wait an hour to get 5 gallons of gas. If we can somehow get a 400 HP over 100MPG then I would like to see what he could do with a smaller lighter car that has some wind design to it.

I'm just picturing this hopped up mustang with a food processor duct taped to the hood.

Nah, ethanol isnt' the be all end all for farmers. I think farmer's would happily trade that market if we found a way to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.

    .
When you start using your food for gas we have a big problem.

Ehtanol is not the answer. I believe this was discussed this in another thread.
