Joe Buck Admits He Rarely Watches Sports And Doesn't Enjoy Baseball Anymore

Awful Announcing: Joe Buck Admits He Rarely Watches Sports And Doesn't Enjoy Baseball Anymore

You just have to read this and listen to the audio to believe it.

I still sort of liked Joe Buck... Maybe the "slamma-lama-ding dong" commercial was for real...

I bet he does another interview before the end of the week saying he was just kidding about all that.

I am neutral on Buck. But, I can't stand Tim McCarver. Buck and Aikman doing NFL is pretty bland. (Kinda like a comedy routine with both guys playing the straight man)

His dad would come up behind him and smack him upside the head.

He is no Jack Buck, that's for sure.

    It's baseball...just my opinion...but I don't blame him.

It's certainly not good to hear him say it....especially being he's one of my favorite announcers.

I don't really like Joe Buck. He shouldn't be announcing sports he should be on msnbc.

By the way, there is still one great announcer out there that wouldn't be caught saying something like that (misquoted, out of context, whatever). Just watch LA Dodger broadcasts, and listen to Vin Scully. He's awesome.

Re: Joe Buck Admits He Rarely Watches Sports And Doesn't Enjoy Baseball Anymore

I lost all respect for Joe Buck when Randy Moss fake mooned the Green Bay fans, and Buck acted like it was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen.

A child can see Bart Simpson's naked butt at 5:00 every afternoon on TV, but the simulated act of mooning by Moss is "a DISGUSTING act by Randy Moss, and it's unfortunate we had it on our air live!"

    Please. DIAF, Joe Buck.

I miss the Sunday Night Football crew of Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann, and Paul Maguire. OK, Theismann was kind of a brick, but Patrick and Maguire were great to listen to.

Of course, the greatest is still Keith Jackson.

The less Joe Buck the better.

Oh yeah, Joe blew that Moss-mooning way out of proportion. Had it been any other player - it's a non-issue and even very funny.

after listening I don't think it's that big of a deal as far as what he said. It's true, and he's just making a point. The host kind of initiated the whole thing as well.

Randy Moss is a professional football player, not a 10-year old. It was disgusting and immeasurably immature for him to do that. There is a difference between him and Bart Simpson.

I support Joe on that one.

Chris Colinsworth thought it was funny. He even joked about it, initially. But then Buck came down with his moral outrage and removed any possibility that the situation would be handled with intelligence.

Please, have you checked out the beer commercials that air during gamebreaks? Something tells me that a league supported by girls wrestling in bikinis, doesn't have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to decency and maturity. Total hypocrisy.

    Right.

I read the blog too, especially the part after the video. It's amusing that people who don't do what Joe does - say it's a dream job. Sure, on the outside looking in it is. But when sports becomes you job, sometimes it's not as fun/enjoyable. Plus, very few people want to spend their entire day working...which is what some expect from sports announcers/analysts.

Again, I don't disagree it was overblown but in Joe's tirade, he had point as well.
