    No Standing at Chiefs game

Thought this was interesting. Fans are asked to treat Chiefs games like bowling matches - Shutdown Corner... - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I've read debates on here or other Cyclone websites about standing and sitting in Jack Trice. Myself, I'm generally a stander. Especially for most of the first quarter. I generally can't help myself because I'm excited. Then again if we start out bad... then I don't stand as much except when the proper situation arrises (3rd downs etc).

What do all the Chief fans and/or frequent Arrowhead Stadium visitors think?

Re: No Standing at Chiefs game

I stand a lot and this would be annoying. Not as much for an NFL game, but if ISU sent something like this - it would be a turn-off.

I do try to respect those around me in the stands - but on third down and we're on defense - I'm on my feet 100% of the time.

Well what is there to stand for at Chiefs games anyways?

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Re: No Standing at Chiefs game

If you are offended by someone standing at a sports event then you shouldn't be there.

I understand older folks that can't stand, and if I am in front of them I may limit the amount that I stand, but come on...

I guess all those Chiefs fans will just have to watch the game standing in their trailers then.

Ha ha. I have back row seats in the lower deck, so I can stand all I want and not bother anyone.

Re: No Standing at Chiefs game

I try to be courtious when I'm not in the student section, but it freak'n kills me. I'll still stand for 3rd downs and big plays, but baseball games are for sitting, football is for standing damn it!

Besides, it's not as much fun to be sitting down wearing face paint... doesn't quite match the persona

Just another reason that the NFL sucks. Football is best played on Saturday, Sunday is for church and yardwork...

Re: No Standing at Chiefs game

    From the article...

I hear they're even taking the extra step and including bed pans with every seat, so no one has to get up to use the bathroom.
That actually wouldn't be so bad. I once missed almost the entire third quarter of a game there while waiting in line for the bathroom.

WTF is this all about? Seriously, if there is one thing Arrowhead is known for is it's college like atmosphere. OTOH, there probably isn't going to be much to cheer about at Arrowhead this fall anyway.

Re: No Standing at Chiefs game

I don't sit in the student section and my *** didn't touch the seat for the entire EIU game last year.

In most games there is a time to sit and and a time to stand. Use common sense and all will be fine.

There is however never a reason to wear a cape and yell at everyone when they are not cheering loud enough. (People in section N know what I am talking about)

I stood for much of the season. I had back row lower deck seats last year, so I could stand without causing anyone any grief. I lost my seats to handicapped seating, so I was glad I was able to land new seats that were also back row, lower level.

My best standing all game story was at the Insight.com bowl. I was in the corner behind home plate in the last row. Although the entire place was full, my row had about 6 empty seats beside me all the way to the aisle. So I could not only stand, but could pace around. But that wasn't all. The beer was right behind me and only took a few short steps to replenish my supply. Not that I needed it. We tailgated all day and were pretty lit up when the game started. What a blast that game was.
