Does anyone else get calls from...

866 873 8592? I get two or more calls every day. I usually don't answer but last night they called while I was at the bar and lets just say I was in the frame of mind to tell them what I really thought and then they hung up before I could. Anyone have any insight on this #?

Also 867-5309 seems to be very annoying.

Usually the caller has got multiple lines calling people at the same time. If one of the other unfortunate recipients has picked up they will start talking to them and either disconnect from you or you get that dead air as if no one is there.

I usually google strange phone numbers, and almost always find out who called. I get lots of student loan consolidation and credit card offers even though I'm on the do not call registry.

You should report them if they are calling and you have registered your number as do not call.

there are so many reasons that disqualify the DNC legislation for actually making them stop calling.

The ones I hate are when you answer then they put you on hold until an agent is available. Ok, you called me but want me to wait? Dead giveaway not worth holding onto the phone. But the most annoying thing is places that don't update their call lists. I've had my number for over 5 years now and I think that whoever had it before me must have some serious debt issues because I still ocassionaly get places calling for this person, usual debt collection agencies or even a lawyer office or 2. Would think that in 5 years they would have been able to have more up to date contact info if someone owed money.

I heard that. I started a business in November of 2006. Apparently, Qwest gave me the number of a person that it likely cut-off due to NON-PAYMENT. Almost two years later I am still getting collection calls on my business line and it's infuriating.

The kicker was during tax season when I tried to explain to the collection agency that called me that this is a business number not associated with the individual - and she tried to tell me I needed to complete an affidavit stating I was not this person. I told her no way, this is your problem, not mine. You figure it out. Good Lord.

Yeah I don't get that either, when they don't believe you I always say "trust me, if I knew what number this person has now I'd gladly give it away so people like you stop bothering me. Don't you know how the phone company works? The same number does not stay at a location permanently." Had a lawyer office get really snippy with me because I was not the person nor did I know what number they live at now and after saying that to them in a heated manner finally got it through them that they weren't getting what they wanted by arguing with me.

Yep. I get a lot of calls from Discover. We have one of their cards that we never use, and they keep trying to sell us insurance on it.

At one of my old addresses, we got a lot of important-looking letters from lawyers addressed to a previous occupant (I assume). I think they were collection letters, but I don't know because we never opened them. At first we sent them back after writing things on them like "no such person." They never got the hint, and after a couple years they just started disappearing under our junk pile.

I've had this at a couple of residences. They never believe that I'm not the droid, I mean, person, that they're looking for. I sympathize a little at first, because I'm sure they heard stuff like that a million times. I'm also sure the debtor is in no real hurry to give them their real information, since they're skipping out on their debts.

    It's frustrating
