    Re: who do you want?

There are a lot of great candidates on that list. I will answer this way, the only ones that I don't want are Norvell or Jonathan Hayes. Please, no more ex-Hawks.

If this is the quality of candidates that we are attracting, I am very excited about the future of ISU FB. Chizik would be great. I think Loney would be a solid hire as well as Harbaugh. As I stated earlier, the only direction I hope ISU does not go in is for another ex-Hawk.

I agree one hundred percent, no ex hawks. I kind of don't want to go down the cornhusker road, but pelini would be a great hire!

I agree. I am pretty excited by these names. I think almost any of them would be someone the entire fan base can rally behind and start building momentum again. While Harbaugh might be a gamble, I think the upside is tremendous. Even Price would be great given his solid track record as a winning HC. Yes, I know about the off-the-field shenanigans, but I think perhaps he has cleaned up his act at UTEP and we can get past that. At any rate, I think JP is going to deliver a solid choice.

    Re: who do you want?

Bo Pelini would be my first choice. I'd love to see ISU hire a defensive coach- offense excites fans, but defense wins championships. Plus he would bring an agressive style. It would be a nice change or bend/not break.

I don't know much about Paul Chryst, but I like his credentials. Midwestern background, NFL experience, son of a coach.

I know some folks don't want another ex-Hawk, but I also like Jay Norvell. Again he has NFL experience and would bring a sophisticated offense. Sure he went to school at Iowa, but he has coached at ISU before so he knows what it takes to get kids to Ames. I also like that he has recruited Texas.

Whoever ISU's next coach is needs to match Mac's enthusiam or work ethic, but will also need to be a teacher of fundamentals and hire a great staff.

    Re: who do you want?

I am still in awe of all the coaching changes this past year. I always thought ISU was that school where you had coaches for life!! Not anymore!

Ok, maybe I don't get out enough, but I don't have any idea what you are referring to?

When I went to school in Ames my roommate was a bouncer at EJ's Legacy, a strip club owned and operated by son of Big Earl of Big Earl's Goldmine fame.
