KU columnist: Mac shouldn't be fired

Boy, this guy thinks Ames/ISU are about equivalent to a Kansas high school. Again, the usual "Can't find anyone better argument."

    No respect, I tell ya!

Re: KU columnist: Mac shouldn't be fired

that kid looks like he is 15.

Second, would you stay in ames if you were paid close to 1 million dollars and you can have a .386 winning percentage in 12 years??

I am sorry, but I am getting sick and tired of articles and journalism like this.
The fact is that if MAC was to go to another school and have 13 wins in 5 years, he would have been fired. I know that ISU football was in a complete mess...so in this case he was a tremendous coach for ISU at the time, he has built us to where we are today.

NOW, it is time to take the next step to build more excitement and more fans for ISU football..JP believes that it will not happen with MAC (I agree with him). 12 years is a LONG time at any football program...after 12 years getting pounded by teams (i dont care about the excuses of injuries, scheduling) is not right...i dont care what school you are at.

I praise MAC for what he has done, because no one could have done a better job, he is always positive, he is a great modivator, but his time has simply come and I think ISU will be better for doing this. 5 years from now...I may eat my words, but by then maybe I wont be hungry because we will finally win the Big 12 North.

Well you have to take it with a grain of salt. He's a senior at KU. You think he's going to be objective?

However some of his points are valid.

Yet again, he does the same thing that every journalist has done: look at the highlights of Mac's tenure, but ignore most of the lowlights.

And since when should we take advice about winning college football from KANSAS?

Obviously this numbskull is going to praise McCarney and his career at Iowa State. Wouldn't you if you had ISU and Mac on your schedule each and every year??
