This has been one of the reasons the Cubs have been winning. Taking more pitches, fouling pitches off, drawing walks. Let's get to that middle relief!

    Re: Cub fans in Florida

Is that moronic Rays fan still yelling as loud as he can every time Mark DeRosa is up to bat? It was rather annoying the 1st time around, I assume it only got worse.

I gotta give the assist to Theriot there. 3-1, 2 out, 88 mph fastball right down the middle and he took it for a strike. Didn't even give Johnson a chance.

Sorry... Reed made a HUGE mistake... He wasn't going to gain that much by stealing that base... But he DID end the inning at 3rd, breaking a cardinal sin of baseball.

Also had a big chance with bags juiced in the 5th. Oh well... can't win them all.

    Re: Cub fans in Florida

What happened at the end. Johnson tried bunting with 2 out?

    Re: Cub fans in Florida

I actually liked the idea of the bunt... it took a great play by the Rays third baseman to get him at first.

The boneheaded move was trying to steal 3rd with 2 outs earlier.

Suicide squeeze. Longoria was playing way deep. Ran up on the ball, threw it in the dirt, but the first baseman made a great grab, otherwise Reed was safe.

The look on the faces of Cub fans from the 7th inning on last night was priceless.

Way to go there Cubbies, with my Royals sweeping away the STL, you had a great chance to pad to your NL Central lead.
