    New Kids on the block...

I was working at state gym and saw the whole basketball team playing ball and I watched them for a good 30 minutes...

L.A. has the longest arms I've ever seen and we was posting up Brackins. L.A. did pretty well vs him!

Eikmeier never really shot the ball much, I wanted to see him shoot it everytime cause it was just pick up ball.

Boozer was looking pretty good and shooting the ball lots! His shot is so crazy but qoes in. Boozer looks so much older than the incoming players and hope he can play some minutes next year.

It is always humbling to see the new kids on campus because you realize how young they really are. Brackins and everyone look much older and can tell they have been lifting.

Jamie is coming from Canada on Wednesday so him and Lucca were the only ones not there.

Jiri was also playing and was dominating in the post but it doesn't say much because the match-ups were crazy- Boozer was on Brackins for a while.

Scott C. (the transfer) looked good and could tell he had a year of college lifting under him.

Diante was fun to watch. He was gaurding Petty the whole length of the floor and was scoring at will almost. Mostly drives, never really pulled up which I think he needs to develop before next year.

On a side note, I had to close down the gym on Wes Eikmeier Monday night and he said, "you close at ten everynight?" (Hope he lives in the gym!!!! ) And last night I had to close on Alex Thompson and he said the same thing, either we need longer hours or the guys are working hard!

Whooooaaa oooohhhh oohhhh oohhh oohhh....hangin' tough...

Seriously though, I like that kids are at the gyms until close and that still isn't enough. I really sense that some of these guys are driven to be great.

A good reminder why it's not a good idea to think guys three months out of high school are going to be ready for Big 12 competition (we fans have such high hopes!). Got to give 'em time to adjust and mature in the natural course of life.

Can't you slip 'em a key? (smile)

This thread has created ads for New Kids on the Block ringtones
But back to the thread, it sounds like these kids are having the work ethic that I like to see.

My question is do they have "THE RIGHT STUFF"?

JJ, i think you should have to sit there and watch them shoot hoops til they are ready to leave, maybe even rebound for them. If we shoot anything lower than 75% on the season from the field... I am blaming YOU!

    Don't worry I'll blame myself...
