    Cedar Rapids Travel

I found a way across the river today. You can go north on 380 to urbana and take a left. After the gas station take another left on 32nd st. It takes you to shellsberg then you can get to highway 30. I imagine you will be able to get through 94 before to long.

I heard it was taking 2 hours to get through 380 at times and this is alot faster, even though it is out of the way.

I was able to get to blairsferry road, and I could not see any water on the left of the road, but could still on the right.

Prairie Creek on the SW side has flooded hawkeye downs and several other businesses down there.

Also heard that preliminary estimates put damage at around 736 million in Cedar Rapids alone. Little less than half is residential. I expect that to rise as waters go back to normal. Also 438 city blocks were under water.

Neither of those numbers is a good number to think about. So what do you think the damage will be state wide? I am guessing somewhere between 2-3 billion if CR is 736 Mil.

One thing that can't be counted now is all the damage to the roads. or bridges that this river has been rushing over. I will reserve state wide estimates till the damage is done occurring. But I still think the Cedar Rapids Metro area will be over 1 billion before all is said and done.

Also I finally got to see a aerial photo of palo to show me the damage.

From what I saw when I went there the water level has dropped alot already in Palo.
