    Superstitious?

As it is Friday the 13th I thought it would be a good question to ask.

    Re: Superstitious?

I'm very supsterstitious about my routine when it comes to gameday, raceday, or big meeting day. Other than that, not too much in the general day-to-day goings on.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

    Re: Superstitious?

Yes, especially when it comes to sports. In high school and college I wouldn't shave during winning streaks. When watching games on TV now I will not let my wife move from her seat or wherever she is if my teams are playing well. Lucky T-Shirt for tailgating etc.

    Re: Superstitious?

High school I was pretty superstitious in baseball. Had the same routine whether I was pitching or catching. Always stepped on the foul line walking off the mound. Didn't let our coach shave when we went on our 16 game win streak.

My wife and I were married on the 13th (intentionally) and we really played up the 13s. Next year it will be our 13th anniversary so that will be a special one.

    Re: Superstitious?

I was very superstitious when I played sports. It was more keeping to a routine than anything, but, I definitely had things I had to do before every football game and definitely before I stepped up to the plate to bat.

Now adays, I ride more on the Karma thing. I truly believe what comes around goes around and that doing good things leads to happiness.

    Re: Superstitious?

Friday the 13th has always been fairly lucky for me. For instance, one Friday the 13th, during the winter, my brother fell down the icy front steps to the house about 30 seconds before I would have stepped onto them. So I knew to be more careful, and luckily I didn't get hurt.

I'm not too superstitious however I read a quote in a book recently: "There is superstition in not being superstitious."

    Re: Superstitious?

My dad was born on Friday the 13th and always considered it his lucky day - so I adopted it. On a more pragmatic note, many people hate Monday's. I refuse to start off with a bad attitude on days that represent 14% of my life.
