    The Kobe vs MJ battle

ended last night. If anyone ever thinks Jordan would let the Bulls get beat like that. They are crazy. That is why Jordan is better than Kobe. Jordan would have won that game last night.

No doubt, IMO that Jordan is better than Kobe, just not better than Oscar Robertson.

I hate all the comparisons made between Kobe and MJ. They need to stop. There is no comparison. Kobe is very talented, but as good as MJ? No way.

The only people making the Kobe/MJ arguments are people in the media trying to sell papers. The game yesterday just made it more obvious.

Anybody else read about Curt Shillings comments on Kobe's so called leadership skills? I loved that... He basically said that Kobe never once tried to pump anyone up, just yelled at people and told them what they weren't doing....

Re: The Kobe vs MJ battle

This was ever in question? Kobe doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Jordan.

Not related to Jordan, but I thought this was an interesting passage from Phil Jackson's book (via Bill Simmon's finals preview column http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...mmons/080605):

"This is another example of the basic difference between [Shaq] and Kobe. Ask Shaq to do something and he'll say: 'No, I don't want to do that.' But after a little pouting, he will do it. Ask Kobe and he'll say, 'OK,' and then he will do whatever he wants."

Schilling may be right about Kobe's leadership skills, but why does he feel it necessary to expostulate about everybody else?

Why can't he seem to keep his yap shut? I used to like him, now he's annoying.

Re: The Kobe vs MJ battle

Hard to argue. Kobe is a great talent but until he figures everything out it is hard to put him up there.

Last night was more on Phil J than Kobe however. Kobe didn't shoot well but other than that he played a pretty good game. Had 10 assists and would have had about 18 if Gasol could make dunks and if his role players could make a shot in the second half.

Kobe's problem was when the put Pierce on him. They are really good friends and you could tell that Kobe made it his personal goal to beat him. He still passed the ball but he was holding onto the ball a little to long and it really affected their offense.

Phil Jackson is now 0-4 against Doc Rivers IMO. He is getting owned. He made zero adjustments last night and had Derek Fisher sitting on the bench way to much towards the end of the game.

Yeah I read it. Who gives a rip what Curt Schilling says? The more that guy talks, the more respect I lose for him. Does he always have to say stuff about other players? Doesn't he have his own issues to worry about?

I think the only reason he said it was that he was right there by the huddle and was somewhat shocked by it... I don't see anything wrong with it...

True. There really isn't anything wrong with it. I am just sick of it always coming from Schilling. He seems to have something to say about everything and everyone. Like a high school girl who gossips all day long.

That could be, but he's jabbered about other "issues" as well. Why does he think he is the judge and jury? It would be like Kobe saying Schilling shakes off too many signals from his catcher. Just zip it, Schill.

What did Schilling want Kobe to do, put fake blood on his sock?

Well, my main question: was Schilling asked about this topic? If he was I have no problem.
