    Thought provoked by Seneca's success...

What does it mean when the only thing positive one can discuss about ISU football right now is the success of a former ISU great???

That when Kansas comes into your house and beats the tar out of you, 41-10, ya gotta find something good to talk about to maintain the sanity.

Plus, I'm sure the Miami (OH) fans went nuts last year over what Big Ben did and are depressed by what he's not doing this year.

Re: Thought provoked by Seneca's success...

    are you forgetting:

    Jordan Carstens (DL, Carolina),
    Reggie Hayward (DE, Jacksonville)
    Ellis Hobbs (DB, New England),
James Reed (DL, Kansas City Chiefs)
    Sage Rosenfels (QB, Houston)
    Oliver Ross (OL, Arizona)
    Seneca Wallace (QB, Seattle)
    Tim Dobbins (LB, San Diego)
    LaMarcus Hicks (DB, Detroit)

These guys are fun to talk about and look up to.... sure this season is a bust... but we get to watch these guys for a while longer!1

Re: Thought provoked by Seneca's success...

I'd say we talk about our former stars because its fun. It gets depressing talking about and reading all the doom and gloom stuff about football. Discussing the success of former ISU players means we liked these guys when they were here and have an interest in seeing them perform well at the next level since it reflects positively on ISU. Thats what it means, so stop being a pessimist leg4cy.

That Seneca will be a very wealthy man as a free agent at the end of the year...

Re: Thought provoked by Seneca's success...

i have no problem with talking about former isu stars, i was glued to the tv last night and cheering every pass and run seneca made. the point i was trying to make is that i wish that wasn't the only fun and positive thing we have to talk about right now. this football season has sapped all energy out of me in regards to isu football. i have never been this let down by an isu team, not even mac's previous debacle. i just cannot reconcile myselft with the fact that a team (mostly the offense) of such talent can suck week after week. the poor coaching is a given, but to an extent i guess i'm calling out the players. there has been no pride in the program exhibited on the field. seriously, programs with pride do not give up, they continue to battle and i just don't get the feeling that this team is doing that.

Re: Thought provoked by Seneca's success...

It's great to see success for all former ISU players - Rosenfels, Hobbs, Dobbins, etc. But IMO none of these players were as ELECTRIC as Seneca Wallace, and I'm not just talking about The Run. And right now, Seneca is the man for the Seahawks, and was the number 1 QB on THE BIG SHOW on Monday Night, so naturally he's going to garner the most attention.

Quote From SeattleClone.....Dobbins, etc. But IMO none of these players....

Okay, I'm willing to admit I'm an idiot. What the H*** does IMO mean? I've been reading it for months, I've asked my fellow co-workers and friends but I still don't know what it means. Even the ones that love myspace. I expect some bad rep because I'm young and not computer illiterate but still don't know what it means.

Let's Add Tinsley into that mix too. The only NBA team I'll watch is Indiana.
