    Tailgating for SDSU game

It's never too early to talk, tailgating.

So, what time are you thinking about getting there to tailgate? How excited are you to tailgate? What lot will you be in?

    Starting with me:
I will be getting there after my last class on Thursday, 2:00. I think the lots open up 5 hours prior to kickoff. Basically, I will be getting there as soon as I can.
I am very excited to tailgate!! Tailgating in warm, sunny weather is the best thing. I just pray for nice weather and a big crowd.
I will be in the student lots with a beer in my hand, taking in the sights of thousands of ISU fans flocking to the lots and having a blast.

Noon at the latest also, the 5 hrs before kickoff does not apply to a late game, I think the lots open at 8am.

No, but since it's a Thursday the commuter lots and stadium lots may not be cleared out until noon.

    Re: Tailgating for SDSU game

Probably take off work early as usual and get there hopefully around 2 pm. Thursday games are a little harder to prepare for. The tailgate food has to be quick and easy. I gotta go home from work, shower, pack the SUV and wait for the mrs' to get off work.

Itll be interesting what section we'll be tailgating in. Our favorite spot, in the grass alongside University Ave/Elwood is being taken over by RV's, im not sure why, but we loved pitching our tent in the grass over there.

Not sure about the commuter lots, but I know the last two years students who parked at the stadium during the year (dorm students) had to have their car moved before midnight Wednesday, same as any other home game.

Which lot is that? It's not the student lots is it? Or, are they the lots by the intramural fields?

    Re: Tailgating for SDSU game

I don't have class on Thursdays next fall so drinking will start early. I will be at the student lot as soon as possible. Only problem is that I have Stat 401 at 8 AM on Friday morning followed by organic chem, Genetics 410, and Agronomy 450.

    Re: Tailgating for SDSU game

The past two years I was out there early. Took the afternoon off from work and was drinking by 1:00.

This year I'd love to do the same but finding someone to tailgate with will be tough. We've all started moving away from each other.

Although I can see these are higher level courses, I would take a personal day...especially the day before a Memorial Weekend. If you have a ***** professor, they might give a quiz or something that day.

Yeah, there is a pretty good chance I wont make all 4, if any.

You dont have to worry, it was a donor lot between JTS and Hilton.

Now we have to move close to where the Alumni center will be. I guess we dont HAVE to be there, but we want to be near some grass. Not a big concrete tailgating group we have. We like our tents.

    Thanks for clarifying for me.
I agree though, tailgating in grass is always more fun.

    Re: Tailgating for SDSU game

Thanks to one of my roommate's friends recommendation we tailgated in the Haunted forest lot all last year. Not quite as nutty as the student lots but much easier to get out of, the same price, and it's all grass. only downside is that there are much fewer porta-johns. Plus we parked there at about 1 am the morning of the Iowa Game.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make it to any of the games. Hopefully we get some on TV this year.
