    new PR?

Was wondering if there was a new punt returner in place of Baum for Colorado. I HIGHLY doubt it, andI wouldnt be surprised if Mac kept Baum in for the season. I thought what he did against UNI (two muffs in a row) was unexcusable, which shocked me to see that he got the Big XII player of the week (JOKE). And after another muff against KU, how many more chances are we gonna give him? I guess now it doesnt really matter whos back there dropping punts.

I don't know how the coaches can't find another guy to return kicks. Is there really no one that wants to jump into that role?

Put Curvey back there...when given the chance - he catches the ball and finds the end zone.

Is there any other requirement of a punt returner?

Speaking of Curvey -- I'm thinking an OC with some creativity would put him in at FB in goalline situations. Fridge like. Of course, we would need the ball inside the 5.

Sumrall has taken punts. He took two in the Kansas game after the Baum muff. He gets my vote. It'll never happen though. Status quo don't cha know!

I think what we should just do on offense is put in the backup OL guys in at WR, TE and RB, and set up in a field goal formation. After the snap, just have Meyer run a Mighty Ducks Flying-V-type formation. Once you get past the big guys on the defensive line, there's no way that a safety/corner is going to be able to outmuscle an O-lineman.

It's a surefire winner. And it's not like we have anything to lose.

    Re: new PR?

You're crazy. Our offensive linemen can't stay in front of other big, slow guys for even a second.

You think they'll be able to run down speedy guys and block them?

I'd like to have whatever that is you're drinking over there.

Of course, I am aware you are having some fun with this - as am I.

But seriously - Meyer would get killed even worse than he is now in that situation.

Well the thing is, they wouldn't be running after the speedy guys. The fast guys would be coming at them to get to Meyer. It's foolproof.

Another option would be to save Meyer's health for next and just give Flynn the starting job back. Cotton's job would be much much simpler when the only play he has to call is Flynn On The Keeper.

Flynn? That's like a sitting duck, 'cuz he's got a banged up ankle and can barely run.

But..."Flynn on the keeper"...it should have been "Flynn running for his life, again".

Sumrall should be back there, but with everyone of our WR's injured, i doubt he will be back there though.

After a while in 2003, I thought they just had the radio on loop, because every play was "Flynn on the keeper........for no gain."

Funny you should mention that...I saw this kid dressed as McCarney for Halloween...and in his playbook, every play was Flynn on the keeper. I LOL'ed for hours!

Sounds like a great costume. He should have won awards for that one!

Does anyone now wonder why Flynn was so eager to switch to wide receiver? I think the conversation actually went something like this....

Coach: Austin, we'd still like you to be our back-up quarterback in '05.
Flynn: Aw hell no. Have you seen our offensive line?
Coach: But, but - how will we run our best play - Flynn on the keeper?
Flynn: I don't care man - run Shaggy on the keeper for all I care. Put me at receiver.
Coach: OH! Shaggy on the keeper, I like that. Has a nice ring to it, even better than Flynn on the keeper. How do you spell Shaggy again?
Flynn: *sigh* Just put me at receiver, coach.

Haha. That's probably a fairly close dramatization of actual events.
