    New Dwight Buycks update

He is now being recruited by:
Iowa State, Memphis, Tennesse, Kentucky, and Marquette. And this list is definitely right. All of these schools have offered, or will sometime in the future.

    Hey guys

Just wanted to give you a heads up. According to a few insiders on the Marquette Scout site Dwight Buycks will announce for Marquette tonight at a PC.

Kentucky and Iowa State were the other finalists.

Marquette is cleaning up under the new staff with Maymon and now Buycks. Keeping that Milwaukee talent close to home I guess.

It seems that there is so much talent at IHCC that we haven't capitalized on. I think the last players we brought in on scholi from there were Jerome Harper and Chris Alexander. I know alot of people don't like the JuCo route but if they can play lets get them on the court.

    Re: New Dwight Buycks update

Does anyone know if we really wanted him?

I am not trying to play the "he didn't come here so we didn't want him" card. But we have limited (1-2) scholarships for next year and we are involved with a number of other targets. A 2-year JUCO is often risky for a variety of reasons.

Was he really a top target that we missed (possible) or was he someone we offered but we have other directions we like as much or more? Thanks!

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?

    I wonder . . . the devil's in the details.

What's going on today with the four-year guys we're recruiting? We wanted Buycks, but how badly? (We came up with an offer late, correct?) We always seem to have more offers out there than there are open scholarships. . . .

    Here's what I mean -- are we:

    A) Hurting unmercifully with his loss?or
    B) Ah, what the heck, that's the way the world turns.

Without knowing the ISU recruiting picture from the inside, how in the heck can we assess that Buycks' decision is a big deal or a little deal? Without more clues than we have, I'm one fan who's not going to fall apart.

Marquette pulls in two Wisconsin kids. Certainly not surprising. It's a fine program.

There has always been a crapload of talent at Indian Hills...the problem is that there is a major reason that they are there for the most part so it's rare to find a guy like Buycks that would be able to actually come play and contribute without some big concerns. I'm trying hard to think of the last player from IHCC that went to a major program and really contributed much. I can think of several that tried to go pro from Indian Hills, but not many that have actually made it somewhere even with the exceptional talent that comes through. It's too bad too cause if we could have gotten a few of those that were supposed to come here over the years we could have had some really special teams.

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

We offered him. If he wasn't our top priority than he was at least our second

I can't even really think of anybody the staff is looking at other than Thames at this point for '09.
