    Basketball Countdown Banner

I see that Jeremy has changed the basketball countdown banner from football to basketball. I don't think anyone wants to count down to the Missouri game! I think it looks decent, but something seems to be lacking, not sure what. Maybe an outside border? Changing the location/size of the school symbols? I'm not a design student by any means though....

Only a few more days until the first game of the real season is here, but don't forget about the men's exhibition game Monday night vs. Wayne State!

Jeremy-You should use the old dribbling Cy bball logo for the countdown.

    Re: Basketball Countdown Banner

I agree, it is lacking. I haven't figured out what it's lacking but it does need help.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

    Re: Basketball Countdown Banner

    Suggestions:

Get a picture of the north face of Hilton (the one with the name on it) and have it as a gradient-faded grayscale in the background of the banner. (Perhaps fading into an image of the court at the bottom?) So it would go:

Top of Hilton picture (the roof/sky)
    The words "Hilton Coliseum"
    Logo, countdown info, logo
Basketball court (lengthwise, obviously, so that it matched Hilton's width)

You could still have some white space in between the two gradients, if that's what you wanted under the numbers. It would provide a nice visual frame for the textual info, and you could choose to have the court shot as color or grayscale, depending on the look you wanted.

Also, can you make it so that the numbers don't flash as they tick down? It's really irritating how they flash and fade in and out on a weird rhythm; just have them tick down with no visual effect. If you put some sort of photo background in the banner, that will make it look sufficiently eye-catching without seizure-inducing numbers.

    Thanks for the banner!

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.
