    Football Team in Parkersburg

Saw on Facebook that James Smith added new pics today, decided to check it out. Apparently quite a few guys made the trip up to (I'm assuming) Parkersburg to help with clean up.

I like that they are out there helping out the community when they are in need. Chizik wants his football team to be guys of high character, and I like that.

    That's cool to see!!!

I hope they gave those guys good workboots. I see some Nikes in that photo, and Nikes don't put up much resistance to rusty nails...

    Re: Football Team in Parkersburg

I am thinking about taking my pressure washing rig up there next weekend to offer some volunteer help.

It is good to see the football team up there giving a helping hand. Always is great exposure doing things like that.

    Re: Football Team in Parkersburg

I happened to be at an event where Chizik spoke and he said that he emphasizes to the team that they are here to serve and not be served. Chizik said that we have a great group of guys. Young men that we can be proud of. We had a chance to talk to the few guys at the event. They are great young men with very strong positive mental attitudes. They are being prepared for success in life, not just football.

Our Coaching Staff is one class act. Friendly, accomodating. Many had their wives and children there. I came away from the event very impressed. We have some great people on our staff who have great families and we are very fortunate to have such great people working for us. We will have a great program we can be proud of. We just need to be patient. And we need to get our butts in the stands to show our support.

Word is that football community service at Iowa will last as long as the iraqui War.

James Smith is on top (his photo's) and Houston Jones on bottom.
