    Nebraska BB woes

Iowa State isn't the only program that is experiencing some recent woes. Nebraska's best incoming recruit has been ruled ineligible, (by the Big XII, so to answer the question no he isn't headed to Ames) due to an enrollment issue with his non-qualifying originally prior to going to Juco.

Their other recruit for this year- Christian Niemann -played club ball in Germany with another amateur named Lucca. It is assumed the NCAA will be consistent and declare him a pro.

Additionally, they have had multiple transfers including a part time starter from last year - J.R. Strowbridge, and Maric's backup last year. Not to mention their "big man" assistant coach just bolted for Marquette. I don't know if they will have a guy over 6-5 see the floor next year.

    Re: Nebraska BB woes

its kinda like the "if a tree falls in the woods" scenario... does anyone in NE care about this news or hoops in general? I have several friends from Nebraska of various ages and they NEVER talk about hoops, it's a joke to them, or if they do, they talk about Creighton...

I thought maybe Doc was doing good things there. Guess it is harder than we all think to get programs turned around. Guess people shouldnt have said why cannt we be like Nebraska eariler in the year.

Im going to venture to say I care more about NU basketball then NU fans do. I would like to see them be respectable....never beat us...but respectable. Doc seems like a cool guy thusfar.

A Nebraska fan or two on this very site were hyping Sadler's recruits and prognosis for next season a few months ago. My guess there is at least one Nebraska fan somewhere that cares about this.

Now that "Order has been restored" over in Cornholer land nobody will care about basketball again.

Plus Mizzou fans are putting a lot of pressure on Anderson and K-State may lose their top two players to the NBA. The Big 12 should be down this year so it's time for ISU to make some noise (even without WJ).

Lets not forget the jury is still out on how fairly new coaches at Tech, A&M, OSU, and OU will do.

Sadler can find some recruits from Europe to fill the holes.

    Re: Nebraska BB woes

well, if and when it happens that NE basketball actually breaks thru and is a competitive program making noise in the Big 12 and runs at the Dance each year, Husker fan will act like they've always been there supporting the team and that they are indeed the greatest fans in america... I saw it with their baseball program when I lived in NE.... prior to about '98/'99, no one gave a turd about husker baseball, then Dave VanHorn turned their program around and got them into the CWS...

I just brought this up to some "Nebraska fans" here in the office (Omaha) and nobody knew anything about it. I momentarily forgot "Nebraska fans" are "Creighton fans" after football season.

It gets tough in Baseball season.... they have to cheer for both until they figure out who is going to have a better season.
