    Apologies are due (Kentucky)

After hearing the hysteria on this board for a little over a week and the bashing of Kentucky, I think an apology is due. Not only were we never in improper contact with Wesley, we were never in contact at all.

Just goes to show you when you jump to conclusions based on internet speculation, it can lead to a fan base losing respect for you. I never had any problems with ISU before but to me your fans will forever be known as "the one's that drug the Kentucky name through the mud based on your own insecurities with absolutely NO base or evidence to any wrongdoing."

As for the "Insider" that broke this "news" causing this hysteria. Goes to show you that posters like "cyismydog" are completely ignorant to what goes on in college basketball and to take their word as gospel only makes the followers look stupid.

Yeah, we really and humbly apologize for the all the zeolous fans that thought Wes might be headed to the hallowed halls of Rupp Arena. We should have known better that he was really after Ohio State. Hope you find replacements for those two debatable late transfers (although they appear to be late to me) and Billy gets his Jimmy John so he can compete in the SEC again. We know K-Y is an excellent program that has had its troubles lately. Just wonder why it is easier for Tubby to recruit to Minnesota than it was to K-Y.

Who is to say they didn't bail due to possible sanctions if they continued to pursue Wes?

    1) Why would ANY coach contact a player early knowing that it is going to lead to questions about how the transfer matriculated when they KNOW it is going to result in accusations of tampering and the player would never be allowed to go there?

    2) Give me ONE, just ONE credible source that says anything about UK ever being involved...

I think this is the first time in the history of internet message boards that something posted could potentially be not true!

Again, most people felt that a middle may have gotten to Wes, we don't know what his affiliation, if any, was. I'm certain Gillispie was not directly involved. That would be stupid.

Yeah, I apologize for the fact that Wesley wanted to go to Kentucky, and would have gone there if he had been released there. Luckily, Coach Mac, and JP, "missed Billy G's phone call."
There is no reason for me to apologize. If Wesley had been released to Kentucky, he would have gone there.

    My suggestion(s) to you:

    1. Get off your high horse.
    2. Remove chip from shoulder.
    3. Quit crying.
    4. Go home.

Indications were the whole episode revolved around middlemen like his brother or other closet associates that were making some unofficial feeler contacts with various schools shadowy representatives in the backrooms.

Guess K-Y did not need another recruit that could jump 42 inches or otherwise K-Y would have been on the list like Ohio State and the others fine Big East schools.

    Re: Apologies are due (Kentucky)

Why do you think that the release was conditional? There still could have been improper contact by Kentucky which caused them to not be on the short list.
