    I want a Smart ForTwo

I can't help it, I just love small cars. The Smart ForTwo looks like a lovely little car, but I have no idea where to buy one around here (Omaha).

Re: I want a Smart FourTwo

The Smart fortwo was rated the most fuel efficient car in the U.S. Federal Government's 2008 Fuel Economy Guide apart from hybrids, with mileage estimated at 36 MPG (combined).[14]
On May 14, 2008, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released crash test results for the Fortwo. The IIHS gave the Fortwo top ratings in protecting passengers in front and side crashes. [15]

I would have the MPGs would be much better. There is a guy on base that drives one of these, they are just crazy small. It would be fun to drive for a while though.

Doesn't a regular gas powered Civic get over 30MPG? It can seat 4 and doesn't look as stupid as a Smart car.

There are a few of these driving around Ames. They look pretty cool in real life, but not sure I would want to own one.

There are two Smart cars in our area. A bright yellow one and blue one. The best part about them is the reaction my 5 year old gets when he sees them, he giggles.

    Nice when he's 5.

But when he's 17, he'll hate you if you had him driving one. That doesn't sound like too bad of an idea, though...

Better get on a list now. There's a two year waiting period for one up here in Minnesota.

'Stupid looking' is something going by the wayside. I think Hummer's are just as stupid looking as a Smart Car. And Smart Cars can actually get close to 50 mpg, not 30. Maybe 40-45.

Very ugly cars, but if you live in a city, or commute 20-30 miles each way to work, I would look into one for sure. To hell with looks.

What mileage does the Smart ForTwo get? - Ask.cars.com

While this may not be gospel it does go with everything else I have read on the US version of the car. Something to do with the US model not using the 'Benz engine.

So thats 40 Highway for the Smart Car, and a Honda Civic gets 36 MPG.

According to Fuel Economy Civic gets combined 29 and Smart gets combined 36.

If I had a Smart Car, there is no way I would use it on a Interstate (outside the city). It would be a city commuter car.

Re: I want a Smart ForTwo

I actually think the MPG on the SMART car is disappointing. There are plenty of "normal" cars that get 30+ mpg. Why drive that dorky thing if you don't have to?
