    Shaving

So what do you use to shave?

An electric razor, the Gillette Fusion, or some other gizmo?

Personally, I don't need five blades that vibrate. I'll bet that one of those old safety razors will do just as good of a job as one of the newer five bladed monsters.

    What do ya think?

    Re: Shaving

I use a mach 3 turbo, I used to use a electric razor for about a year but I didn't care for it to much and went back to the mach 3

    Re: Shaving

Electric razor (Braun Synchro) for the face, Fusion for the noggin'. I will also use the Fusion on my face if I don't shave for a few days. If you have a coarse beard like I do, you need a razor like the Fusion or Mach III (which isn't nearly as good, but not too bad). I've never tried one of the old-school safety razors, but if the blade is sharp, I'm sure it would do the trick.

Just curious, but for the other head-shavers out there, does anyone use those gimmick razors that are specifically for your head? If so, what do you think?

    Re: Shaving

I have used them all. I dont like electric shavers because I feel they irritate my skin more.

The gillette mach 3 are what I settled on. However I recently bought a pack of disposable 2 bladers that have been holding up well.

    Re: Shaving

Gillette Fusion on my face and Schick Quatro on my head. The Gillette just doesn't get the job done on the scalp and the Schick chews up my face - so I have to use 2 different ones.

So... which is better? Does your face get pampered or your head?

Wow... this is a weird conversation.

    Re: Shaving

I use the Mach 3 I got for my 16th or 18th birthday or whenever you get one free in the mail from Gilette.

I'm 24, so you can do the math to see how long I've used the same razor. I do however occasionally change the blades.

I spent alot of money on shaving and believe it or not I keep coming back to Bic sensitive skin disposable razors. I use one for 3 days and then pitch it for the next one. Seems to be the only thing I can find that gives a close shave and limits the "shaving bumps".

I used to struggle with this big time on my face - mostly the neck. I found that washing my face with an anti-bacterial soap right before and after I shave (Dial works quite well) did the trick.

I also switched from using gel shaving cream to an actual cream shave.

    Re: Shaving

I went on Ebay and bought a years supply of schick quattro cartridges. I can make each cartridge last for about 2 weeks. I think I paid about $1 for each cartridge, which is a lot cheaper than the stores.

Funny side note, I was hanging out on Hawkeyenation off-topic and one of the members was bragging about a product he created which extends the life of a razor blade. I told him to send me the product and I would give a review. The review didn't go well and he wasn't happy. Here is the link.

    Re: Shaving

I use a gillette twin blad of some sort: the triples and quattros just get jammed up with beard and don't work after the first swipe.

Of course, I can and do shave with my straight razor from time to time, just to keep in practice...
