    Last few Questions about Wes

There are rumblings around that McD's system didnt fit Wes. We have heard this about other players too. But when a system is build around a player, built to go through a player, built for a player to take a lot of shots, built for a player to freelance a little bit, how can that system not fit a player? As long as Wes was on this team it was this team, McD's system was tweeked and going to tweeked more to make Wes the center piece. If the system is tweeked for you 75% of the time how can you not fit in it? We saw how Mike Taylor, CB and Jiri shined when they were the center piece of the system.

There is also talk that if Wes wasnt injured he would still be a Cyclone? If Mike Taylor would have been on the team would Wes still be a Cyclone? If Wes would have redshirted would he still be on the team?

    Just some thoughts I have.

Re: Last few Questions about Wes

Well as McD said, Wesley finished 2nd in rookie of the year in the Big 12 in McD's system.

Wes would still be a Cyclone if he was not injured. I don't think Mike Taylor matters much as he wouldn't be back next year anyway. I also don't think a redshirt would have mattered either

Re: Last few Questions about Wes

I am torn on this particular subject.

I want a coach that develops a system. Recruits players for that system. Shoves that system down Big 12 and ISU players' throats and is successful. It is a philosophy we are used to seeing. WJ is a good player but for McD to completely revamp his program around him is ludicrous. He is a good player but hardly one that demands that kind of consideration.

On the other hand, I haven't seen the dogma of the McD program like I saw in the four previous ISU head coaches. It was easy to see what the prior coaches wanted to do (whether you agreed with it or not). McD has been challenged with lack of talent but I just can't put my finger on how he is trying to beat other conference teams.

Yep. Just like CYlent Bob said. GMac's problem right now, is that his "system" is either absent or unidentifiable.
