    Is less more?

    From the Wall Street Journal:

A multi-billionaire, Nicolas Berggruen doesn't have an interest in acquiring things. For him, wealth is about lasting impact, not stuff.

He doesn't own a house or even a car.

"Living in a grand environment to show myself and others that I have wealth has zero appeal," he says.

    Re: Is less more?

This is not unusual. In the book "The Millionaire Next Door" the author pretty much puts to bed the myth about the extravagant "rich people". Most wealthy people who stay wealthy live pretty un-extravagant lives.

Think ten year old Ford Taurus for a car and a below market average conservative, older house.

    Re: Is less more?

I wish I had a billion dollars and a Ford Taurus. I would sell the Taurus to buy a new set of tires for my Viper, which would be parked in the garage of my conservative, older house. Next to my Ducati.
