    My daughter cracks me up...

So my 8 year old daughter and I were out playing a few holes of golf last weekend. She started golfing last summer and does pretty well for a new golfer. We play on a par 3 course north of the cities so its a great place for her to learn. I bought her these sweet pink clubs last year and she loves them....so she is teeing off on #4 its about 165 from the women's tee, using a hybrid wood, and hits it about 50 yards....I was just driving the cart for her and giving a little instruction to her....so I decide to hit her hybrid club for fun off the tee after she does and it went pretty well..it was short and left.....

after I hit it she says" holy cow dad!!!! I bet you could beat that Tiger guy, grandma is always talking about"!!!!!

    I almost peed myself...

It's funny how your kids perceive you...

Recently, I was discussing the presidential race with my almost 7 year old. I was telling him about the three candidates left in the race. He paused to let everything sink in and said, "Dad...why didn't you sign up?"

If only it were that easy to become president.

On a family vacation to the Black Hills when I was six, we stopped by Mt Rushmore (who doesn't when they're out there?) My mom says that I asked my dad when they were going to put his face up there.

My dad once told me that his proudest and saddest moments as a parent occurred at the same time. It's that one event, when you're a kid, where you realize that you can beat your dad at anything. A thinking board game, a sport, anything. Because that's the moment when he goes back to being "just dad", but he also realizes that he's doing his job the right way.

So your dad never let you win then?

It's not the act of winning that sets it off, it's the mental realization that, "I'm beating him because I'm better at this than he is." I'm sure my dad let me win some stuff, but I don't remember it.

Ahh... I get you... I have a 3 and 1 yr old... they haven't been able to beat me yet... but I am sure they will be surpassing me in the next 6 months!

Re: My daughter cracks me up...

I was babysitting my three year old when she discovered the poo poo and pee pee words from her older brother. She called someone poo-poo head so I told her we don't use those words, etc., etc. The next week she tried to incorporate the words into a song she was singing, a...a...b...b...c...c...poo...poo...pee...pee. Again I told her that was wrong and she was going to have a time out if she used those words again. Finally the next week she informed me that they were going out to Chinese dinner that night and did I want to know what she was going to order? I said sure and she defiantly shouted "the pu pu platter!"
