    Favorite Game

If you had to pick one game that you attended to go back in time and be there again which one would it be?

Mine would be at Texas when we ended the Road losing streak, Tasheed stomped on the Logo and Homan through the Long Horn's down. Followed probably by the win at KU.

    Re: Favorite Game

ISU coming back from 6 down with 36 seconds to go against Minnesota - BEFORE the 3 point shot was in existence. We nearly won it in regulation when Tom Peterson missed about a 35 footer as the clock expired - but WON in OT. That, and the Missouri game that is credited as the start of Hilton Magic.

    Re: Favorite Game

Mine would be Sullivan's freshman year when we played Kansas at home. He hit 5 or 6 3's in that game, but hit one on 3 consecutive possessions at the end of the 1st half. His last one was from 30+ feet. He was running up the court, got passed the ball, jump stops, pulls up, (everyone in the crowd is wondering what in holy he11 he's doing), and he drains it. I've never seen Hilton so loud, and I've been going to bball games from the early 90's til now. It was unreal.

    Re: Favorite Game

I was there for Danny Manning's last futile attempt to win a game at Hilton. We won, he fouled out, and our fans saluted him with real, legitimate class.

KU went on to win the national title that year, so we saw what turned out to be a special team.

    Re: Favorite Game

I cannot believe someone else remembers the Minnesota game - it was fantastic and my favorite game of all time. T Allen was one of the best dunkers we've had at ISU (based on his size).

I've got that game somewhere on videotape

As for basketball, it would be 1987 Iowa game where LaFester went off for 54 points. I actually went to that game and we had 4th row seats behind Johnny. Awesome time beating the Hawks!!

Watching Iowa State beat Wilt Chamberlain would have been pretty cool.

    Re: Favorite Game

I agree. Gotta seperate football and basketball:

Football: Adam Runk's interception as we beat Iowa tied with Shaggy making the game winner last year

Basketball: Game against Texas where Boddicker misses both free throws followed by two missed tip ins.

If you're going to go football, I think you have to go with the Insight Bowl. First ever bowl victory.

    Re: Favorite Game

That Texas game was one of the loudest I have ever hear Hilton, I could feel the floor shake when he was shooting his FT's and the 18 tips at the end seemed to last for 2 minutes

I know it wasn't classy, but Tinsley's trash before the game was the epitome of that season. The Clones were good, they knew it, and their opponents didn't. Before the game in the tunnel UCLA players were making "farmer" jokes to the Iowa State players. Briefly during warmups Tinsley stood almost at half court, stared at the Bruins who'd been making the comments, just slowly shook his head and did the ever unpopular throat slash gesture with his finger. Unclassy yes, but UCLA had no idea what they were in for...

Football: The Iowa game 3 seasons ago when we won 23-3 merely because of the "hype" they had comin in. My friends and I camped out overnight to get front row seats and it was great to see us completely manhandle Tate and the Hawks...(also it was my first Iowa-Iowa State game)
