    Stop talking about Harbaugh

He is coaching a smaller division school in San Diego. Easier to beat up on smaller schools than Big 12 shchools. We are talking like there is a coaching vacancy. Last I heard we still have a coach and my guess is that Harbaugh wouldnt even make JP's top 5.

I agree. Its about as absurd as the initial mentions of Chuck Long.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

The reason people like/offer names of Harbaugh, Long and maybe Loney is that the people appear to be an upgrade. If JP announced the new coach was going to be Frank Solich, the bandwagon would stop. Everyone is looking for the glamorous and savvy pick for a new coach. If we would only get Joe Noodlehead, I think one more year for McC would be attrractive with a mandated goal of bowl and seven wins. Too bad JP cannot check out a few people before he decides at year's end.

One thing that is tru, JP is a triggerman. Dan must not sleep too much at night. A loss Saturday would be devastating.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

He coaches in the same division as Drake. Drake wins that conference every once in a while. So would you want Rob Ash as our next coach. I think not.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

Harbaugh is coaching at a lower level, but he is ranked among the 1-AA top 20 is is the only program without scholarships to do so.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

Fans are unhappy and ready for a change. The prospect of having Mac for 4 more years doesn't thrill me too much and I doubt there are a lot of schools out there thinking he would be a great hire.

Harbaugh probably is not the answer, but at least it gives fans something to talk about besides embarrassing losses.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

Harbaugh is a "sexy" candidate, but everyone does realize he coaches in the Pioneer Football league. As far as mentioning coach Ash from Drake that is absurd. Although the points below may show that Harbaugh might be able to fare well. Heck, maybe even San Diego could beat ISU?

Everyone does realize that San Diego beat Drake 37-0 right? UNI beat Drake 48-7. ISU beat UNI 28-27. See any similarities or trends?

San Diego is 8-0 right now. One interesting stat is they have scored 366 points and given up only 76 points. Averages are 45 points per game for offense and only giving up 9.5 points per game.

    Exactly right!

Should there be a coaching change - we shouldn't consider anything less than at worst a coordinator from a BCS conference - preferrably from the Big 10....

    Oh wait....

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

I would rather have a HC from a Midmajor than an Asst. coach, unless he is really outstanding. ISU really paid its dues with Mac his first 5 years. Not that he is outstanding now, but he was horrible as a head coach his first few years.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

I agree, I would say he is lucky that we Cyclone fans have showed the patients that we have over the past 12 years. He could have been out after 5, but we may have not won 9 games in 2000. You never know.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

Explain to me how his players outweigh ours, have great speed and he's winning 10 games a year. Do think we could whip up on his team? I think not. He's one guy that would bring lots of life and vitality into the program. With recruiting leads in California and in Chicago after player for Da Bears, he has the tools to be a super coach for ISU.

    Re: Stop talking about Harbaugh

    THANK YOU!!!

i just think harbaugh brings in way too many unknowns

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
