    Flash websites

I'm still trying to narrow down my photography website and wanted to give any web designers here a crack at it - should someone want to.

I'm looking for a Flash based site and I'll link a couple examples of what I'm looking for. I've found some vendors that sell 'em out-of-the-box with some decent customization capabilities, however I am still a little concerned about limitations and service should I run into problems. I found one I love but I can't seem to get the vendor to respond to my e-mails as I have few questions.

Anyway, the things that are important to me are...

    - Ability to have many galleries (4-8ish)
    - Text pages for info, rates, etc
    - Contact section
    - Client proofing (can specify a private gallery only viewable with a password
    - Shopping cart (integrates with Paypal)
    - Pricing editable per gallery/job
    - Calendar
    - Can specify a certain font
    - Music (maybe even page/gallery specific)

I've considered using BluDomain.com (they have my favorite layout) but can't get in contact with them at all. Another I've considered is FlashPalette.com.

If someone knows of some other good vendors or you work with Flash - let me know.

Whatever you do, do NOT have music start playing automatically. That's very annoying.

    Re: Flash websites

Check out www.pinecreekstudio.com. It may be a little spendy but they do good work. They did the website for who I'm working for this summer.

    Re: Flash websites

As an amateur, Flash is tricky to work with. If you really know how to use it, you can make some awesome-looking stuff. Nearly all photographers worth their salt has a really neat, elegant, functional Flash-based site. If you want something solid, consider a professional service. There are enough amateur web designers that can't get static HTML right, I wouldn't trust them with anything that involved Flash or a database (which you'll also need).

Edit: I never really had much of a chance to learn any Flash while in school. I have it on my computer (bought the student edition of the Macromedia Studio 8 before graduating) and have tried to teach myself a little bit. I can make a "slide show" esque intro that rolls through a few pictures, that's about it. Haven't had much time to play with it for a while.

    Re: Flash websites

Yeah, I'm looking for someone/vendor that knows what their doing. While I'm not in search of the top of the line and spending an obscene amount of money on it, I'm not going for the subpar look either.

Clean, simple, professional is the goal. :)

I did send a note to Pine Creek Studio, thanks for the tip mymanfreddie. I'm guessing they may be a little more spendy than I'm looking for, but worth a shot to get a quote from them.
