    6-6 Is a Solid Year

I know a couple of you just spit your drink on the computer screen when reading the title but I believe that. I have already posted I feel like 6-6 was the bench mark this season even before the injuries. The offense was somewhat overrated simply because we have probably the weakest group of rb's in the Big 12. The defense was depleted before and during the season. I personally think the defense has played better than expected considering all the challenges it has faced. We win the last three games, go to a bowl game, and start thinking about next year. that would be victories over the two worst team in the conference and a payback upset at home. I believe.

Now, just so you don't think I am completely nuts I will admit that if we cannot win a game in what I believe is the weakest Big 12 North ever, McCarney needs to resign. No buyout. No controversey. Just a man standing up and being a man.

6-6 might have been realistic but it's anything but solid. I think 8 wins would have been solid.

    Solid?

6-6 is about as solid as what I fire out after a Mexican dinner...

ISUFan, I don't know what's worse. The record, the comparison, or the fact that I know exactly what you mean.

Re: 6-6 Is a Solid Year

When I clicked on the thread I thought this was another idiotic Mac quote. I was mistaken.

My confusion was likely to a quote of his I heard today saying that a 5-2 home record would be solid.

Yeah, he did say that today. I was listening to the press conference.

I blurted out to the computer monitor....

"And 3 of those are Toledo, UNLV and UNI, so what's your point?"

Funny, he didn't respond to my question.

This season has been one big, wet, smelly fart.

Re: 6-6 Is a Solid Year

And do we have a chance of going 6-6? No.

    5-7? Most likely no.

    4-8? Ask again later.

    3-9? Chances are good.

My magic 8-ball never lets me down.

I'd say let's go 3-9 and get a higher draft pick, but for some reason college recruiting just doesn't work that way

They tried parity in college like in the pros, and everyone just dropped the i.

We should be 0 and 8 right now, don't forget that. Sterling wins over powers like UNLV and Toledo.

You mean 0-9? UNI barely lost to us.

I agree with the overall premise to a certain extent. Before the year, I thought 8-4 would be a great year, 7-5 good and 6-6 disappointing but realistic. I agree that the defense has been a bright spot. I don't think the offense was overrated, other than the fact that our expectations glossed over the offensive line problems, which I guess everyone hoped would go away with another year of experience.

I think that if the offense was putting up 35 a game, and the defense was giving up 42, this season would be a little more explainable, and not so much heat would be on Mac. I disagree that the Big 12 North is the weakest ever. That would last year. Nebraska is coming around....not the Nebraska of old, but better. Missouri is a little bit of a paper tiger, but better than they have been.

I think if the players are going to stand up for their coach, they need to do it in these last three games. At this point, two out of three or three out of three would be that statement.

How how how has the defense been a bright spot??? When you allow a QB to complete a video game like completion percentage of 75 that there is nothing bright about that.
