A friend's hunting trip to Utah, and what he saw....

An internet buddy, who sent me all kinds of goodies when I was deployed to Iraq, sent me these pictures they took when on a hunting trip somewhere near Vernon, Utah.

Evidently they got an Antelope, or somesuch, and this is what they found when they got to their kill:

I'm thinking I wouldn't have hung around to discover just how "friendly" these animals are. Evidently someone is keeping a "pet" that they shouldn't, or is feeding these animals. According to him, there were two of them.

Well at least it is friendly. Good for whoever taught it to be so. Only problem is now someone will shoot it thinking its coming for an attack.

The cat has probably mellowed after having all of those long discussions with those missionaries who come knocking on its cave.

I know a few people that have pet wolves. The idea of having "wild" animals for pets doesn't appeal to me and I don't know why it appeals to anybody.

I know out west you can keep mountain lions as pets. The problem is you have to go out and steal one from the nest to keep it.

My buddy had a half dog, half wolf for a pet. The stare was intimidating. Eventually, he farmed and had to put the animal down. It was unpredictable.

I know of some people in northeast Iowa that have mountain lions (something like that) and they escaped from their pen for a couple of days. Personally I don't think I would have something like that though.

I can't see the big pics either.

I'm no cat expert but that Cougar looks small, probably not very old. Glad to see they didn't shoot it.

I have a friend that has a wolf/dog for a pet. The thing is huge, very fast and very friendly. Biggest dog I've ever seen. My Lab looks like Shitzu next to it.

On a slightly related note, they've recently photographed jaguars in Arizona.
