    MACS PRESSER

FIRST, Stop complaining about the FREAKIN HARD SCHEDULE! Your job will not be saved on the "hardest schedule in cyclone football history". Your job will be lost because:

You lost to a first year head coach at Kansas State

    You barely beat UNI

Your teams have spoted 14 points 3 of the last 4 games

You have lost complete control of your offensive system

Your Offense put up POINTS last year with the SAME offense

After the turnout on Saturday(I predict no more than 30,000), the hard work and dedication that the Athletic Department has done to fill the stands...you have put nothing but pathetic football on the field this year.

    I CAN SEE IT NOW....EXCUSES....EXCUSES....EXCUSES

    Injuries, Scheduling...BLAH BLAH

You play in the Big 12...your schedule is going to get tough. Iowa's schedule was tough this year...The #1 and #2 Teams in the nation and I dont hear Kirk talking about "the hardest schedule in Hawkeye History".

Plain and simple...Iowa cant beat Ohio State or Michigan this year because they are not as good as they are.....plain and simple...ISU cant beat

    Kansas State
    Texas
    Oklahoma
    Texas Tech
    Iowa

Because you are not as good as they are!!! Not because of the schedule!!

As a side-bar...i will be voting for MAC for govenor because he can freakin political talk his way through a press conference with no press giving him any flack at all.

"I am going to coach these next 3 games harder than I have ever coached at ISU" Dan Mac 10/30/2006......we will see Dan just how hard you can coach and you better run for the shed if you get pounded by Kansas at home.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

Is KU the back-breaker for Dan if he loses? it would be humiliating to lose to KU at home in a year in which the media picked us 2nd in the North.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

It is already pretty humiliating to lose by 21 to a team who was picked last in the Big 12 by a lot of people and who most people say will not be equivalent to the Bill Snyder teams for a long long long long time! It is already pretty embarassing to be a Cyclone!!!

    Re: MACS PRESSER

I think that the KU game will be the breaker if we lose.

But then again...he will step infront of the press and the camera and talk about the injuries (if blythe, stevie) dont play...he will talk about the weather if it rains...same ole stuff we have heard over 12 years during a loss.

I already think being a under-dog at home...against KU...is enough to get the team pumped up...if we cant win this game, it is over for Mac.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

Losing by 21 to a very bad KSU team should have been the breaking point. There is no possible way based on job performance that Dan should keep his job after this season. My guess is there will be confounding factors such as ticket sales, the athletic budget, and major donor support that will affect the decision as well. But in terms of losing to KU or not . . . can't imagine it matters much one way or another. Both teams suck.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

Has anybody seen anything out of this team this year to suggest that we WILL beat KU? I haven't. I'd take the points if I was a gambler.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

Ericlambi I agree with you...the KState game should have been the breaker.

What I thinking is if we lose to Kansas at home...we will see more of Pollard in front of the camera talking about the status of the football program. So far he is not saying too much, but once he opens his mouth after the KU game (if we lose) I think that is definatly a sign of things to come.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

I think they will score on us similar to Texas Tech. They have a pretty decent offense when their qb is playing well. As for us, Meyer has to be just about perfect to keep our offense moving.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

I don't see how we win this game. In all honesty, KU has a better team than KSU and KSU just rolled us. Same problems will be exposed...no O-line and no defense.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

It's one thing to not play well and lose to good team. It's bad to play poorly and barely beat or lose to a mediocre/bad team. But then, to heap insult on injury, DM routinely insults the intelligence of the the fans and donors by making these subpar opponents out to be top-10 caliber teams with his postgame comments. Break the fans' hearts by losing, and then poor salt in the wound by treating them like idiots. It's just unbelievable.

But fans and donors aside, I'm really concerned about the effect that this practice of inflating the caliber of mediocre opponents has on the FB team from a recruiting standpoint. If you are a recruit, how can you trust anything that the ISU recruiters tell you when the head coach is out there routinely white-washing reality (in multiple coats of bright white) to cover up poor performance? it just looks really weak.

I'd really like to know what Ben Bruns feels in his gut when he hears DM heap praise on UNLV, or UNI, or KSU. More interestingly, I'd like to know what ADJP feels...

I think we've already been humiliated this year. Even in our victories we have looked like a lost team that's just trying to tread water for an entire season.

But the sad thing is, for all that we will complain, the people who are heard the most are the media, who cannot say a bad thing about Mac for the life of them. This may be one of the first times in history that the personality of a coach superseded the results that he actually puts on the field.

    Re: MACS PRESSER

Out of all the things though, Mac should truly lose his job for saying that we played 5 ranked opponents in a row.

That is just a pathetic thing to say.
