    Warm Winter Destination

I know these threads are annoying but I seriously need help with this. After this brutal winter, the other half and I need a place to go this winter for a week or so for a vacation. Any suggestions/deals/under the radar places to go??? Doesn't matter if its out of the country or not. Also, did you have somebody plan your vacation? If so, who???

Not exactly under the radar, but my wife and I went to Key West for our Honeymoon during the first week of February. Weather was 80 during the day and 70 at night, and honestly, it wasn't too crowded. I think there are festivals and stuff that you might want to schedule around, but the week we hit was awesome.

Do you want to just relax, or do you need a lot of activities/sightseeing? Wife and I went to Cabo in january and loved it. Nothing but relaxing, eating, and a day of fishing.

Just got back from Negril, nothing but sitting on the beach and drinking things with umbrellas in it... I LOVE all inclusives. It was pretty cheap too.

We were right there, but did not go in. Sand gravity was too powerful for me to get up and do a lot, plus I did not want to go pay for drinks, when I could just walk up to any of the 10 bars at the resort and get a drink for free.

Last time we were there we watched them from a catamaran, it was pretty cool to see, but I was not about to jump from there.

i'd say pretty close to 50'. it seems like a long ways up when you're about to jump. just a guess, but it looked like a 5 story building. could be wrong.

Yeah, I thought it looked alot higher from up there than it did from down below, but that could have been the crystal clear water and huge boulder under that talking...

I'm a history buff and she likes to hike. So I guess a little drunk sightseeing might be a part of the festivities. Where did everybody book their vacation??? Any particular website I should know about???

History buff? Try St. Augustine, FL... There is alot of interesting history around there and great beaches at Crescent Beach.

I have actually had the best luck booking vacations with expedia, even all inclusive ones. It always saves over quotes from travel agents and dealing directly with resorts...

    Re: Warm Winter Destination

Charleston was great for historical stuff, and I hear that February or March is a good time to go (I went in July- not a good time to go). I did a lot of research on the internet and booked everything myself the last three trips. Not sure if I saved money or not, but everything seemed very cool and reasonable.
