Is it bags on head weekend

I remember in the 80's a lot of the college kids would show up to the games with a bags on there head as a joke. I think we might see some this weekend.

How many people are going to show up this weekend. Also are people going to show up for the game or just to get some good tailgating in before the end of the season. I would say people are going to tailgate.

Depends on how good the Mizz/Nebraska game is come 1pm. If that game is anywhere near close, I will probably stay out in the tailgate lots and watch that!

Hey, you might as well. It might get ya' on Sportscenter. Our level of play and coaching this season is definitely "bag on head worthy."

Re: Is it bags on head weekend

I'll be in the tailgate lots when they open at 7am. And I'll be at the game cheering as usual. But it will be disappointed cheering.

I may need to have a few more daddy sodas to brave the weather...

Re: Is it bags on head weekend

I'll be out there to tailgate, but the only game I've been to all year was 3 quarters of the UNLV game. Why would I want to pay for a ticket to watch a terrible team, when I could pick up a terrible game on the TV out in the tailgating lot?

I hope Cyclone fans don't wear bags on their heads. It's one thing at a pro game, but I think it's disrespectful to the kids out their on the field. They're 18 - 22 year olds busting their butts for the Cardinal and Gold. It's been a disappointing year, but please don't show up to the game with the intent of insulting these kids.

Re: Is it bags on head weekend

If these guys were getting paid like the pros do, I'd be the first one outside the stadium handing out paper bags for people to wear. But these guys are young guys busting their butts for us and getting only tuition/room/board in return. Don't get me wrong, I feel like wearing a paper bag on my head in the stadium, but it wouldn't be right for guys like Austin Flynn and others who are class guys to see that.

i agree with you clonefan65. i will be there wearing my red and gold with pride. these kids do bust their butts and being a season ticket holder, i should also be held accountable to do my job--fill the seat, cheer as much as i can, and hope for the best.

I agreee 100 percent, if I were to into the game there is no way I would put a bag over my head. I mean if I dont want to see the game, I'm just not going to go. But as far as doing my part to fill the seat and cheer, i am going to beat this will be the weakest crowd to watch a Cyclone football game in at least 3 years.

Re: Is it bags on head weekend

I think Michigan State fans did this after choking to Notre Dame. I've always thought MSU to be somewhat of our equal from another conference -- high hopes, only to consistently plummet.

This is one of those things I hope we don't equal.

Only tuition/room/board?? Do you know how much it costs for us out-of-staters? It's ridiculous for hard-working students to be in huge debt after graduation, while these "student-athletes" get a free ride for getting C's and playing crappy football.

If you won't hand out the paper bags, then I will.

    (Just a recent graduate's opinion)

Edit: You're right, the players don't deserve it, it would be wrong. But I do think that free tuition/room/board is a pretty nice thing to have for the players, I sure hope they appreciate it. And to clarify, the bags are for the coaches.
