    Computer Question - Laptop Reboot

You guys have been so good to others that I thought you might ba able to help me.I have an ACER Travelmate 4400 Windows XP Pro. It crashed. I took it to the shop and had them back up all my data on CD's. $50 not bad. I rebooted the system so it runs. Now how do I retrieve the info from the discs? I don't really need all of the info back but my old emails, taxes and pictures would be good. I have two CD's.

Re: Computer Question - Laptop Reboot

I assume all they did was create data cds with all your files on them. All you have to do is pop the CD.

If you open up the CD from My Computer you should see a bunch of folders, probably your My Docs folder and whatnot, just drag these folders to where they need to go in your C: drive.

If they used some sort of software to automate it, there may be another process you need to go through.
