A few more from the spring game

A couple on the field but mostly portrait type photos. I like to get shots of the players without helmets because a lot of the time we don't even know what they look like. All the players were good natured about having a camera stuck in their face.

    Bailey Johnson

Of all times to have contact lens trouble, here is Travis Ferguson. I bet he appreciated me standing there taking photos.

The only touchdown I managed to catch. Here is Ricky Thompson, Jr.

Coach Jay Rodgers during the halftime.

Kurtis Taylor has his eyes on Phillip Bates.

James Smith keeping warm on the bike.

    Phillip Bates sees his receiver

This is a BIG young man, Kelechi Osemele

This guy isn't quite as big but has a great big smile. Wallace Franklin. My favorite photo of the entire day!!

One last photo of Phillip Bates in pregame stretching.

Wes, both of those with Bates getting ready to throw are just fantastic - especially the 2nd one. Nice job!

Thanks, 22!! I would give ANYTHING if Phillip would lose that plastic shield. That would have been 10 times as good a photo.

    Great photos, got anymore?

"I think that people are responding to someone standing up and saying this is what we want to do and let's not be afraid to go for it,'' Pollard said. "I think Iowa State has a very conservative, modest background. We never pound our chest and say `Let's do it.' It's OK to set a goal. You can't do it if you don't say what you want to do. You should be proud of it.''

Re: A few more from the spring game

    Great Photos.

I think the first photo of Bates sums up why it is so hard to see how the QB is going to be live. Look at him throwing off his back foot. He is doing this b/c he knows if a player gets near him the play is dead. When it is live, the QB has half a second more time that they can use to step into a throw. I really think that is why both QB's struggled when I watched the first half of the scrimmage.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Bates looks like he is quite the competitor. Looks like he has a lot of upside in the leadership department. Looks like he wants to win more than others.

Re: A few more from the spring game

Arnaud is a very strong competitor as well - it will be interesting to see how everything plays out. I will say from seeing Austen over the years that if he is motivated and his head is in the right place, I think it will be his job.

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?
