    Time to start the subs

Get 'em some experience and playing time. This season's over.

Yep, and the seniors that have rode pine.

Let Van Winkle get some PT!!! He has been a trooper and it would be a shame for him never to see the field.

When you're coaching for your job you don't play subs, unless you have to. Today, the coaching staff had to.

But Dan doesn't realize he's playing for his job.
    He just doesn't get it.

Re: Time to start the subs

I would like to see a few fresh faces pop up in the remaining games, but I hope this doesn't devolve into a "pull the Arnaud redshirt" post.

I'm guessing there won't be much mixing up of the lineups though. On paper we should be in two of the last three games.

I believe we're already starting our subs on defense! On offense, we played several subs today. Jason Scales, Josh Johnson, Euseph Messiah, Marquis Hamilton, Reggie Stephens, etc...Blandboy didn't listen to the game...

Re: Time to start the subs

You are correct...I didn't listen to the game. Was at Cedar Falls visiting my daughter. I'm an ISU season ticket holder, so I don't get many free weekends to do something fun 8^).

I was hoping we'd get the O-line subs some snaps. They couldn't do much worse than the starters and there'll be no additional bowl game practices to develop them.

Understood...if our best guys are playing on the o-line, I would feel sorry for the quarterback in there with our o-line subs playing.

Re: Time to start the subs

We're already starting the subs, plus Mac has morgaged the future by unredshirting a number of players. Too bad for next coach. And Mac knows he's gone unless he wins the next three.

Re: Time to start the subs

If the subs were good enough to play they would have played. Do not risk injury this late in the season. It would be nice to see some of the "gamers" like Rip get some playing time to end their careers.

As for Arnaud, I posted that earlier, and I believe Mac is now even more desperate. Just hope not any dumber.

As I mentioned earlier, he is a money generator and a recruiting closer. He need to reload his assistants. Which then would cause the old turmoil of having the players get use to a new position coach. The line may be a result of the numerous turnovers of position coaches. And I am not making up excuses for them. I feel Mac has two choices, have Barney Fife coach just the linemen, or leave. Two intricate detailed responsibilities which controls 30% of a football game, to much for him to handle.

If you really mean that, you aren't a Cyclone fan. I'll be the first to admit that I have been a little slow seeing this disaster coming, but whatever happens at the end of the season, I'm going to be a Cyclone fan next year, so I hope that they go on and win the next three, and I hope that the players go out on a positive note and build for next year. I hope that for the seniors too. A player like Austin Flynn doesn't deserve to go out like this, and definitely shouldn't lose fan support either.

Re: Time to start the subs

I think there are a lot of guys out there playing right now that Mac was not planning on playing this much. I think Mac has to go, but his team is way different looking than the one everyone thought was going to be on the field after the bowl game last year. I would feel sorry for him if I wasn't so sick of listening to the lame excuses of why ISU can't win.

He will be fired no matter what - end of year or next season. Next year will be a duplicate of this year. Same sheet of music, same clowns, same politics.

No talent in the stable to rescue him.
