    RB's

I was extremely impressed with Bo Williams. He looked like Rickey Williams - too bad we have to wait until 09 to see him run. I thought Robinson picked up where he left off in November and the surprise guy was Jason Harris, he looked big and fast. I think should be the #2 RB going into next season. Sorry Scales, you just don't excite me with when you have the ball.

I think ISU should be able to run the ball for teh years to come with no problems.

    Re: RB's

It's nice to see a quality stable of running backs. That should either keep them healthier or give us good options when someone goes down.

It's good to be able to run the ball!

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

i agree about scales. he just isnt flashy. although he had a couple games toward the end of last year that he ran the ball hard in the middle.

I think he lost a lot more quickness than people thought to all the injuries.

Unfortunately there are at least 5 other guys up front that also need to be good in order to effectively run the ball.

    Re: RB's

Let's not beat up on Scales. He has given a lot to this program and really stepped up last year when we needed.

His left ankle was wrapped with about 10 rolls of tape at the scrimmage yesterday and he was clearly playing "hurt" again.

    ARob is definitely #1 though.

    Re: RB's

I think we are in a great position when our potentially #3 (or 4) running back is Jason Scales. He was effective at times last year, and I think our skill and depth at that position will really help our young QBs get settled in. I would love to see us run the ball 40-50 times in the first few games of the season while Arnaud/Bates gets some full-game experience.

This is assuming our o-line will come together....and it appears they struggled a little yesterday.

I also noticed how heavily his ankle was taped. Here is a photo from pregame stretching.

Looks like an ankle spat for a normal sprain and nothing more to me. Often times players will spat their ankles even if they don't have sprains or if they have recovered from a recent one and don't want to risk re-injury. I taped my ankle in basketball leagues this year after I sprained it just as a precautionary measure the rest of the year.

that spat taping is alot heavier than a regular spat taping, also it is very high up on the ankle (which jason has a history of high ankle sprains) , also if players are doing it to do it they do both ankles, and lastly you ankle taping was prob straight to the foot ...

Right on. Wouldn't it be great if Jason could stay healthy this year and really contribute to a much improved ISU running attack all season!

I'll give some love to Scales. He has been injured so much, we've been cheated out of watching him for much of his career. I'd love to see a healthy Scales to see what he can do.

You guys are a tough crowd.
