    Apathy

I apologize, but I can not get angry anymore over ISU losing FB games. There was a point even last year where I would have been very upset with the outcome of a game like this. But with the performance of this team this year I just can not get upset any longer. I don't recall ever thinking this as an ISU fan for 23 years now. The only year that came close was 1994.

True. If this were a pro team, we would be talking about rebuilding and looking for something positive in the years to come. Time to root for basketball (Men and Women!) and support Pollard.

Yep, in the time-honored tradition of fall at ISU it is time to turn the page and focus on BB. Interesting isn't it that in 1980 ISU was a FB school. As the FB program disintegrated, JO, TF and LE kept our spirits up and allowed us to show some pride in one aspect of our university's athletic department.

I started feeling the apathy a month ago... I think it's kind of a way to protect ourselves from the perpetual disappointment this season has become. I really find it difficult to care right now.

Next up... Kansas - looking for another win to improve bowl eligibility, plus will want to end their road losing streak as well. What can the coaches do to motivate now that bowl eligibility is hanging by the thinnest of threads?

What bowl would invite us? NO offense, little defense, growing apathy... who would spend $$$ to go to Shrevepit or any other second tier bowl to watch this sorry excuse of a team. I'm struggling with driving across the state to watch the final two home games?

    Re: Apathy

This post has put together every thought that has swirled around my head in the last several weeks. Serisously, it's alomst word for word. Over the last few seasons there have been points where a loss in a key game can ruin my whole weekend. It's very seldom that I give up on the season and root for the players this early.

The only thing I'm emotionally invested in now is pulling for an Iowa loss every week!

A Nebraska loss always makes me feel better too. Right now 1.7 million people in Nebraska (and the thousands living in Colorado) can't come to grips w/ their only source of self-promoted national identity tarnished for the 2nd straight week.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Don't look now guys but Iowa State has been a basketball school since Johnny Orr came to town in 1980! I think this football team has done quite well for a BASKETBALL SCHOOL!
