    Far away clone meetings.

So I am at breakfast this morning in Negril Jamaica, of course wearing an ISU t-shirt, and the guy next to me says: "what year did you go to ISU." He was a grad in the late 60's, but said he loved ISU. Last time we were in Jamaica we got stopped by a guy that lived in Ames for a while, and worked for ISU.

It really is a small world.

What is the furthest away from Ames you have ever met an ISU fan?

Met a guy at the swim up bar in Negril that graduated ISU in the mid 80's and lived in Chicago. He was a terror on the volleyball court too.

    Re: Far away clone meetings.

I was at the Kriminal Museum in Rothenburg Germany and overheard a couple talking in English. I asked where they were from and they said the US. I asked what state and they said Iowa. I asked where and they said a little town in NE Iowa called Cedar Falls. I told them CF isn't little because that's where I drove growing up to get my shopping done. We talked to them a little longer and found out they were both ISU grads and graduated at the same time my dad did.

    Re: Far away clone meetings.

My wife and I were doing a whirlwind tour of Europe back 2002 and we ran into an American older couple dining at a small retaurant in Venice. We got talking and found out they were from Des Moines and also ISU fans. Very strange.

Maui on my honeymoon, we met 2 couples on different days that attended ISU. When I was younger, we were at Mt. Saint Helens on the top of the visitor center when a couple from Ames saw our ISU shirts. Both showed how small the world is.

I had some D-Bag start singing the Iowa Fight Song at me in NorCal... I kind of went the other way with that one.
