ESPN is reporting the same story. It seems like Huggy Bear is out recruiting every program in the country.

Pretty soon they won't even need to go to high school to get into KSU. This sounds pretty strange to me. Is KSU on semesters? If not how on earth can he catch up after missing half of a semester? Never mind it probably wouldn't matter anyway.

    Re: Huggins does it again

I assume he would not be eligible until January? And if so, why waist a year learning the system.

Also of note, when would he be eligible for the NBA then? It states one year out of high school. Does that mean one year after you left high school or one year after your senior season. If they let him in the NBA after this year, this is making a lot of noise for someone not around long.

December 17th according to the article.

Additionally, he has been admitted but has not enrolled yet. They are waiting on some NCAA "red tape".

The guy can recruit...no doubt about it.

He also likes to drink, drive, and have heart attacks so we'll see how that part of the job goes.

I've read that KSU has already sold more than 12,500 season tickets; how large is their auditorium anyway? In addition, they've received the highest preseason ranking in their history.

I say good for them. We may not have the best team this coming season, but ISU basketball is going to be great for years to come. This will just give us another highly ranked opponent to beat.

    Re: Huggins does it again

Here is what Bill Hodges has to say this morning:

    # Class 2007 Top 100 forward Bill Walker of Cincinnati-North College Hill, Ohio, has been admitted early to Kansas State</B>, but has not yet enrolled in classes, according to the Kansas City Star. Walker was approved by the NCAA, but while he can be enrolled in the school's fall semester that recently began, he cannot be part of the basketball program until next semester. Walker was ruled athletically ineligible by the Ohio State High School Activities Association this summer because he had exhausted his high school eligibility by playing four years, starting as an eighth grader. Instead of choosing to sit out a year, Walker took accelerated classes to graduate from high school early in his senior year. The Wildcats also received a commitment from Class 2007 guard/forward Dominique Sutton of Durham-Patterson School, NC.

Earlier this month, KSU also landed Dominque Sutton, a native of Durham, N.C for the class of 2007. They out-recruited U of North Carolina and Connecticut in landing him.

It seats 13,500 but how high is their preseason ranking? They used to have some really good teams. I'm surprised they were higher than some of them this year. Interesting.

    Re: Huggins does it again

And they have sold 13,000 season tickets for an arena that seats 13,500. It could be a new K-State team this year; at least in terms of fan enthusiasm.

    Re: Huggins does it again

Huggins is a lot like Morgan... Great recruiter, less than great coach. He did the same thing for Cinci but never got anywhere with the talent he had.
