    Please...Please...Bring Sunshine and Warmth

This weather is killing me. I find it extremely hard to get up in the morning in good mood with this weather. Here is what I can't wait to do

    1. Get on the lake
    2. Get on the golf course
    3. Grill out
    4. Wear shorts, I'm skinny but the extended length of time wearing pants has worn the hair of my thighs
    5. Fly a kite, never sounded good until April 12th, 2008 when I woke up to snow on the ground
    6. Another thread mentioned Frisbee golf, might try that this year

I will have to work sometime in between. Anything else you suggest that I can look forward to doing when the warmth finally breaks through?

I filled my quota on Snowman building for the year, time for sand castles. I get your point though. You won't be laughing next year when you have to explain to the Kids that Iowa and the rest of the Midwest Killed the Easter Bunny with it's unseasonably long winter in 2008.

With warm weather and wind comes the howling tornado sirens as well. Always keeps you on your toes in Iowa in the spring.

I've been grilling out, golfing and wearing shorts for the last month or so.

Yeah it's been a bit nippy, but it's not too bad, really. I won't be golfing today, but grilling out and wearing shorts are distinct possibilities.

    Re: Please...Please...Bring Sunshine and Warmth

I've come to the conclusion that since I am likely to stay in this Godforsaken place for a good part of my life, I might as well enjoy it. Winter is at least a third of the year, and I'm not going to spend a third of the rest of my life unhappy. With that said, this ******* sucks.

    Re: Please...Please...Bring Sunshine and Warmth

Ahhhh, yes. Spring. Let me tell you, that it was hard; hard I say in the Mediterranean last week. Some days, it actually got below 70 degrees. Dangling my toes in the water off the pebble beaches of Crete became absolutely FRIGID, I tell you.

And once, while eating Greek food, in an outdoor taverna, I ACTUALLY felt a draft.

You guys (and gals) in Iowa don't know what suffering is.....

    Re: Please...Please...Bring Sunshine and Warmth

You guys are cruel I tell ya, cruel! I don't think I would trade the four seasons. At the end of the summer I am ready for snow, at the end of the winter I am ready for sun and fun. It just when my internal clock and mother natures clocks don't coincide when the seasons change is when it gets tough on a guy.
