    Ratings, green squares, Rep level?

    What exactly are these?
    How do you affect them?
    what do they do?

Re: Ratings, green squares, Rep level?

I may not have a total handle on these, but...

I think "Junior Member" vs "Senior Member" is determined by your longevity. If you've been registered for so long, you become a senior member (I think).

Green boxes and rep level are determined by whether or not people give you good or bad reputation/karma. You can add to someone's rep by clicking on the little blue checkmark beneath their name. Simply select whether you want to "approve" (give positive rep) or "disapprove" (give negative rep). You can choose whether or not you want to leave a note for approvals, but you HAVE to leave a note for disapproving rep. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that, for every 100 points of rep you receive, you receive another green box (or, conversely, red box for negative overall rep).

How/why/when to give rep is a whole other issue.

Jr Member vs. Senior member depends on your # of posts I believe.

Thanks, Cycloneworld - I was completely guessing on that. It seemed like everyone I'd seen with "Senior Member" status had lots of longevity, but they probably would to have a lot of posts.

Moderator is something Jeremy designates. A lot of times it's someone who's been on the site a long time, or occasionally someone he knows (like me). It's someone who can delete threads, posts, etc. besides their own.

Re: Ratings, green squares, Rep level?

I have planned on writing up some sort of quick CF 101 tutorial but I haven't ever found the time. I'll try to get it up my list of things to do because I think it would help out a lot.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Well i just want to let you know that there is no push by me for it. I had a hunch of what it was(I mean come on, rep level is pretty self explanatory), but i wanted to make sure i was right.

    Thanks again to you all.
