2 former ISU recruits back on the market

Rico Pickett at Alabama was a Wayne Morgan recruit. A very good recruit also. I am not sure how good he was at Alabama.

Also Trevor Mbawkwa (SP) at Marquette. Got hurt this year I beleive. At one point he was a top 40 recruit. I think he ended up top 100.

Yes, Mbwake is from the Twin Cities and was highly recruited. He was hurt this year, and didn't do much. Why is he leaving Marquette? Because of the coaching change?

Mbakwe is a great athlete who has a strong body and gets up and down the floor well. He doesn't have much touch, but he would be a big help on defense and rebounding. He would also add some nice dunks.

I believe we offered him before anyone else did. Hopefully he remembers that and if we go after him again we get a good look from him.

I think Trevor would be a good add on. I Think we already have a bunch of guys in Picketts role.

The only problem is that we need help next season, and those guys would have to sit for a year.

you don't have to sit out a year if you leave because of a coaching change, example-see tyler smith

Not true. Tyler Smith didn't sit out b/c he transferred to be closer to who his dad who was dieing at the time. He asked for the NCAA to let him play and they did

Re: 2 former ISU recruits back on the market

If they want to come here we take em, whether they play next year or not. I remember watching Pickett play against us in LV and he played pretty decent. He plays and is built like Garrett, not quite as skinny now tho.

YOu can ask for a release, due to a coaching change, from the NCAA..... but there is avery low success rate for players with this scenario.
