    Does Space ever end?

Just a dumb topic I'm throwing out.

Ever look up into the sky at night at the stars and wonder how far space goes and if it ends somewhere? If it does end, then what is on the "other side"?

Maybe I'm just weird (ok that's a given), but really...it blows your mind to think about it.

Big Bang theory is a crock. Physics may say it's the way things happened, but there are so many things it doesn't account for that have been conveniently filled in with other theories.

Pre-emptive disclaimer... This is my belief. Others are entitled to their own....

The Bible says that God is capable of holding the universe in the palm of his hand, so yes, I believe it ends and God is on the other side.

I am truly sorry if this post derails your thread, but you did ask.

On a side note, I read that one third of the world's population now lives in an environment that can no longer look up and see the stars as you did due to light polution.

That really sucks. If children grow up never seeing the full array of stars that really closes in their world. I would hate to be somewhere that I couldnt see them.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. On the first day God said "Let there be light." That had to be a pretty big explosion - a "big bang," if you will...

I think that space does end, I mean there are only 120 power stars, so what would mario do if there were infinitely many... he would be tired!

I must agree. I am very insignificant in the scheme of things...............until I turn the key to my SUV. Then the whole world gets a little warmer. On a serious note, I was driving in the middle of the great state of Utah last summer on I-70 heading toward Grand Junction,Co. at around 11 pm when I realized there was no one around. And drove that way probably for a little more than 20 minutes. Well 20 minutes of seeing no one is not that long you say. Well it is when you have the cruise set at 85. That's like driving to Ames from Des Moines without seeing another vehicle. Then you add that there are no lights of ANY kind in the distance or on either side..............makes one feel very small. However, with that said, the sky was absolutely HUGE! I grew up on a farm in Iowa, and the night sky here doesn't hold a candle to the night sky out in the middle of Utah. It seemed there was no beginning or end. And might thoughts were exactly that of this thread. It was amazing.

And as for light pollution................shhhhhhhhhhhhh, Al Gore might be listening. Or worse yet, the Weather Channel.

According to a show on either Discovery or Science Channel, the universe is constantly expanding. For something to expand it would have to have an edge..correct? But does space=universe? Or is our universe merely a piece of space, so space itself is infinite thus allowing our universe room to expand...or not.
