    Barnstormers

Any chance we could get a CyBookie on the Barnstormers @ Louisville?

Am I the only one excited about the Barnstormers coming back? Are they going to have their home games on local TV?

1700 AM The Champ out of Des Moines. I think they go on air at 5:55 or something like that.

I'm definitely looking forward to it as well. Some football will be nice to pass the time until, well, football season starts.

According to the article in the Rag today, all HOME games will be on Mediacom 22, but no road games. In my opinion, that is a great plan. What better way to encourage great home attendance so the team doesn't die off again than to put the HOME games on tv! Oh, and let's make sure not to put the road games on tv so people could watch all the games and generate interest in the team... /end sarcasm.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Wow, this "nifty" media player sucks. Pretty poor quality and there is no sound. That wouldn't be a problem except the video is like 5 minutes behind the radio.

    Re: Barnstormers

I think the Barnstormers will be well supported here. If you've ever seen AFL football I think it's some of the hardest hitting and fast pace FB there is. Gotta love it when some guy just gets slammed into the wall when tackled. Watched part of a game today and a guy went up to get a pass in the endzone and wound up being thrown over the wall on the play.

I saw that too, that was the game where they were 1.5 points short of the Over. With the boundaries being walls, it kind of makes it like a cross between football and hockey. But without the ice and boredom.

    Re: Barnstormers

NHL, yes. Even the Iowa Stars game I attended was not too thrilling. Now the Buccaneers on the other hand, is a good time. Same with ISU in the old ice arena when they still served beer. I guess you could say I'm not into the game of hockey, but I enjoy a good rowdy hockey atmosphere.
