    just a thought

so in the past 3 years we've lost these players

    transfers
    corey mcintosh- augustina
    corey johnson- agustus
    shawn taggert- memphis
    farnold degand- maryland
    mike evonavich- ?
    tasheed carr- st joes
    dodie dunson- bradley
    wes johnson- syracuse
    Players leaving team
    ross marsden
    marcus brister
    clayton vette
    left early for draft
curtis stinson- some league in russia
    will blalock- d league
Ivan Chariav " The NBA needs Ivan Chariav" lol, when he said that i couldnt stop laughing

    kicked off team
mike taylor- d league, should get drafted this year in 2nd round

couldn't make grades or got out of an LOI
P'allen stinnett- starting guard for creighton
lawrence westbrook- starting guard for minnesota
theo davis- plays reasonable minutes for gonzaga
    probably some others

but all im sayin is, for one team to lose this many players in a total of 3 years, is ridiculous. i mean how can you lose this many players, thats like 15 guys, and i think i might be leavin some out, but not team should go through this kind of loss, and this is the reason why we sucked the last 2 years. because of all the lost players, i know that if the players wouldve stayed we wouldnt have recruited some of the guys but oh well, mcdermott seems like he is getting his stuff together, by turning this trainwreck into something good again. i am very excited for next season, and i hope all this fuss about craig brackins transfering goes away. cause if you think about it we could probably get another guy who is very good anyway, but if he's the next fizer i would be very mad. Mcdermott is a good coach and next year is his first year that he will be judged, i hope the guys who are "mcdermott doubters" realize that for a team to lose this many players in such a short time is rediculous. mcdermott has this team ready to win again with wes, garrett, and brackins. best of luck to corey johnson and all the other players who have left this great program.

ps sorry this was so long..... lol thats what she said
    ,
edit: thanks for reminding me about dodie, Gocubs, i wish he was still here

now it's time to add wes johnson and cory johnson to this list

You are right, it is REdiculous.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Thankfully I think the Soap Opra days are about done...Greg probably won't lose that many players in the next 10 years.

    kicked off team
mike taylor Thug that couldn't learn

couldn't make grades or got out of an LOI
P'allen stinnett Was only a POTENTIAL recruit, dozens at each school each yr
lawrence westbrook Was only a POTENTIAL recruit, dozens at each school each yr
theo davis Was only a POTENTIAL recruit, dozens at each school each yr

So there you have it, most were recruited by a completely different style of coach for a completely different style of play and didn't want to change. Some were only potential recruits and never at ISU, dozens to hundreds of possible recruits every year. You only have a couple that were actually recruited by the current staff and they were only because they were last minute recruits and they didn't work out.

EDIT - to be clear I know you weren't ragging on the current staff, I just wanted to highlight the reasons we lost those players and recruits to help those that constantly trash the staff for losing the kids that were never really ever committed to "them" or ISU but rather a completely different coach and style of play.

    Re: just a thought

Didn't realize that Johnson was leaving. I knew he didn't play a whole lot this year, so I understand why he wants to leave.

It is amazing how many kids left for "greener pastures" and most had their reasons, especially with the way the coaching change occurred. IMO, Morgan was pushed out a little unfairly and some of the players probably thought ISU did not want them if they didn't want their coach.

With that said, I think next year will be a much better year and hopefully we will be able to make the NIT (might need to wait one more year for NCAA). I think Coach McDermott will get his players in here and things will be much smoother from here. And, I do think McDermott was a great hire, but he is getting the program to where he wants it with recruits who want to play for him.

Cory Johnson To Transfer - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - Iowa State Cyclones Sports

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

For some reason I thought he was gone mid-season Morgan's last year?

They were signed but they were for a different coach and different style. I don't consider them backing out a detriment that should be reflected on anybody currently at Iowa state. They were committed kids but I don't consider a kid anything more than a potential recruit until day 1 of classes. All kids are too indecisive these days.
