    CFB: Fan ranking index

    CFBLive

Iowa State made the honorable mention of the top "Family Atmosphere Programs."

"IOWA STATE CYCLONES - The Cyclones would make the Top Ten List if Dan McCarney were still at the helm. But don't underestimate the environment that Gene Chizik is building at Iowa State, even though he's only been on the Ames campus for a short amount of time."

When they rate Colorado's travel better than TAM, KSU, KU & MU it brings this whole index into question.

What the heck does having McCarney at the helm have to do with the stadium environment?? Makes no sense to me.

The media's love for DMac is borderline nuts. They all thought we were crazy to move past him and now the fan environment isn't as good since he's gone? Bunch of BS if you ask me.

    Re: CFB: Fan ranking index

Hmm, should be pointed out that #3 West Virginia now has a new coach and #5 Hawaii now has a new coach.

Programs going through coaching changes this year were not eligible for this list. Most of the programs listed below have had the core coaching staff in place for several years. Data for determining the top programs was collected after January 2007.

Seems like this is old data.

And, Hawaii supposedly not a family atmosphere. I've heard a lot of stories where fans have felt terrified at the games.

That IS a rowdy crowd. I watched a couple of their games last year and it was rough.
