A couple of weeks ago I had to make a run to some home improvement stores down in the Des Moines area on a Saturday. While I was out and about I noticed a large number of people wearing their Hawkeye gear (once again head to toe) while at Lowe's, Home Depot and Menards. Since then I have been trying to keep an eye out on Saturdays when I am out and about shopping and I have noticed a disproportionately higher number of people wearing their Iowa duds out on Saturdays. Even more sickening is that this is the case in Story City which is a satellite of Ames. It's almost like their mommies have set out their clothes on Saturday morning.
I would like to encourage CFers and the greater Cyclone community as a whole to reclaim this day as Cyclone Saturdays even more now that we are going in to a slower part of the athletic year. Bust out that Cardinal and Gold when doing your shopping going on walks, jogging or traveling. Join me in showing your support and staking out your territory and support your school, fellow athletes and fans on Saturdays.
