Re: Days that Changed ISU Football - November 20th & December 3rd

A follow up story by the Omaha World Herald on the ISU coaching change revealed that Jamie Pollard had interviewed three candidates for the ISU position, but quickly zeroed in on Jim Harbaugh. Sources indicate that a group of donors approached Jamie after the K-State loss and offered to pay all the costs of of Macarney's contract buyout. Harbaugh is already making great inroads on his recruiting with three high profile offensive line recruits in his first three weeks on the job.

I think Wayne Morgan still needs a job. Atleast he can recruit!

Also from the Omaha World Herald on Dec. 10...."In his first team meeting Harbaugh shocked the Cyclone athletes by introducing some controversial and innovative defensive strategies. He brought forth a new play called the 'Blitz' that the old coaching staff seemed unaware of. The players were shocked to learn that more than 4 men could rush the quarterback as he explained this play called a 'Blitz'. Up next week in the Omaha World Herald, an in depth article on the benefits of the 'Blitz'."

I'm just making the point that just about anybody is an upgrade over the staff ISU has now. People can say it's just Barney but it's everyone! Skladaney is doing good with what he has. The defense is young and inexperienced, i'll give them that. Everybody else can go though. Coach Mac MUST go. He oversee's the whole operation and whole team. If the offensive line just sucks, fire the oline coach, if the offense sucks, fire the offensive cordinater, if the dbacks sucked, fire the dbacks, if the talent level on the roster sucks, fire whoever is the main guy in recruiting. The fact of the matter is the WHOLE teams sucks. Right now this team couldn't beat Texas's scout team. They need better talent, leadership, and coaching. Time for a move to be made.

Where are the D-Mac supporters? I've been a D-Mac dissenter for quite some time now, but always like to hear what the supporters have to say. I don't know if I'm right, but would like to be convinced I'm wrong.

CTA....actually today we blitzed a very high percentage of the plays. Never got to the QB on the blitz or caught the runner in the back field on the blitz, but we blitzed heavily today.

I think many like myself who have been Dan apologists for many years have lost confidence. I know people I talked to at the game today who have also always supported Dan think a change is necessary.

I cant agree anymore with these posts. I want to argue with everything that is being said but i agree 100%. This is so embarassing. I could put up with it when we were 1-10 in the mid '90s but these teams have talented players and should be 8-4, 9-3 every year. Coach Mac is gone. Chris Ash may be the only one leftover from the staff. I had tickets to Shreveport, but maybe I'll go to the Alamo Bowl to watch the Hawks instead.

Good. Wasn't able to see or hear the game, but read in a different post that we only blitzed a couple of times. Glad we tried something different, even though it didn't work. I hate when I make assumptions when I didn't even see the game. From the games I've seen it always seems we are sitting back on are heels and not going after them.

Ouch...Was interested in what you had to say, but that Hawk line just hurts. Is this where we are headed? Scary.

I'd rather root for an 0-12 Clone team than watch a Hawk team with Carmen Electra and the rest of the Pussycat Dolls, while being spoon fed lobster, steak and beer.

Re: Days that Changed ISU Football - November 20th & December 3rd

You are correct about prior games, CTA. Today we had a couple of new wrinkles. Blitzes as well as a several time we had three D-lineman, 5 dbacks and two linebackers blitzing. Net result was still the same, no long passes, but tons of short passes, that went for a lot of yards.
