    State of Kansas

I was wondering if the KU fans were cheering for KSU and if the KSU fans we cheering for the KU team, since they are at the same site in Omaha.

Common sense says that since they're both from the Big 12, they were rooting for the conference. However, you never know with those fan bases...

No way. They have as much hatred for each other as Hawkeye fans have for us. Ihave customers in both cities and hey hate the other Kansas team and Nebraska on equal terms.

Exactly. My company has an office in Kansas and this is right on. Although there are some fans (just like there are here) that root for both.

Seemed like most of the KU fans in my area at the Qwest Center weren't cheering on either Wisconsin or KSU, just kind of watching. Most KU fans did give Beasley a standing ovation when he came off the court near the end of the game, though. A few writers there said it was "very classy" of KU fans.

I would be glad to see him playing his last game if I were a KU fan too. As an ISU fan I am glad to see him gone too, even though we somewhat stopped him in Ames, he killed us @ KSU.

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.

We were also a much better "team" by the time they rolled into Ames as compared to when they stomped on us in Manhattan.

    Re: State of Kansas

In my experience, the students obviously don't like each other, but I don't think there is a lot of hatred there. There are a lot of nonstudents that are willing to root for both. I've experienced less hatred between those two as compared with Iowa-Iowa State or KU-Mizzou. KSU-KU is a rivalry, but KU hates Mizzou more.

Anyone who doesn't think there is a strong hatred between 95% of KSU and KU is definitely mis-informed.

I would say the rivalry is stronger than ISU and UofI, especially since KSU and KU are in the same division of the same conference.

KU definitely hates MU as well.

I lived 25 minutes from Lawrence for 12 years. There were a lot of families that would cheer for both. A lot of people enjoyed KU basketball and KSU football (which is lame). I really never saw much hatred between the schools. I think there maybe be more among the students, but again, I think most of their hatred is for MU.
